Chapter Eleven, Slander and Early Birth
The next morning Aurora awoke with a smile on her face as she thought of her first date with Charlie, it had gone better than she ever thought possible. But what she didn't know was things had been set in motion as someone had caught them last night at dinner and though they weren't doing anything wrong the person thought otherwise and it would be in this mornings Daily Prophet. Once she was showered and dressed she made her way downstairs for some breakfast but upon entering the kitchen and seeing the grim faces of her family she instantly knew something was wrong.
"Dad what's wrong?" She asked worriedly as she sat down next to him. Sirius sighed running his hands through his hair as he threw the paper down onto the table angrily landing front page up. "I'm so sorry Pup Rita Skeeter must have found you and Charlie at some point last night and posted it in the paper making it seem like a scandal when you've done nothing wrong. Don't worry I'll sort this out I promise Rory she won't get away with this." Aurora paled as her dad spoke as she picked up the paper as if it was going to attack her. Looking at the front page she saw a picture of her and Charlie in the restaurant holding hands and Charlie kissing her forehead. The headline read: Scandal of the Chosen One: playing brother against brother. How long has this gone on for?
Aurora immediately grew angry as that horrible woman was making out she was playing Fred and Charlie against each other even though it had been common knowledge that she had been engaged to Fred. Insinuating that her baby wasn't Fred's but Charlie's or maybe someone else like George as it was stated she was uncommonly close to him all throughout school even though she had been dating his twin brother. She even had a quote from Molly and Ginny saying that she had been close to all of their sons/brothers and it had been quite worrisome and they often wondered who the father of her baby was. Rita had then gone on to say to her readers that she would find out the truth and discover the lies of the Chosen One as the public should know who their hero actually was.
Aurora threw the paper down onto the table it immediately bursting into flames caused by her accidental magic. She was so angry she could feel her magic bubbling under the surface ready to be released. She hadn't felt this angry since the whole Marge incident. The windows in the kitchen started to crack and rattle, the cutlery in the cupboards and on the table shaking as a tornado of her anger and magic continued to rise. "How dare she! How dare she say that about me cheating on Fred! I love him, I wouldn't! And Molly and Ginny I knew they hated me but to say that!" Aurora all but screamed as she flew to her feet shaking in her anger.
Sirius leapt to his feet bringing his daughter into a tight hug running his fingers through her hair trying to calm her down before her magic completely lashed out of her control. He knew she would feel terrible if someone got hurt because her magic was out of control caused by her anger and her raging hormones. He knew she had every right to be upset and angry as he, Remus and Dora were fuming. Remus had nearly lost control to Moony when he read the paper. "Shhh Rory. Shhh, we won't let them get away with this I promise but you need to calm down before you hurt yourself or Amaya." Sirius said softly trying to calm her down.
After a few more minutes she finally calmed down the kitchen settling back down to how it was as he felt his shirt damp with her tears. "I'll speak to Kingsley Rory. Don't worry we won't let them get away with this. It's no ones business if you start dating again. It's not like you're in a bloody relationship. You've done nothing wrong." Dora said as she and Remus came over to her and Sirius, Teddy who was in his mother's arms held his arms out to Rory wanting to be held by his Godmother. Aurora smiled as she took Teddy into her arms smiling softly as he snuggled into her pressing wet kisses to her cheek making her laugh softly.
"Why don't you have your breakfast cub and then go into the drawing room with Teddy I know he'd love to spend time with his Godmother." Remus suggested. "And don't worry George and Charlie don't believe a word of her lies they left early to go to Gringotts to get magical restraining orders on Molly, Ginny and Rita and anyone else who had mouths you or them. We'll sort this out don't worry." He assured his eldest cub as she sat eating her breakfast with Teddy on her lap, he didn't want to be moved from her. "Thank you." Aurora said softly her smile turning into a slight grimace as she wondered off to the drawing room after finishing her breakfast.
Throughout the day Aurora had received a large number of hate mail that Remus had dealt with as Aurora refused to open any of the letters especially when Remus found curses on some of them due to his detection spell. Dora and Sirius had gone to Kingsley the new Minister of Magic and complained about the article and the treatment Aurora was receiving because of it. Kingsley had been furious and had issued a statement claiming the articles as lies and slander and issuing a warning to the magical populace that there would be heavy fines and magical restraints placed upon them if anymore articles were released or anymore hate mail was sent to Aurora, especially those who sent cursed letters to cause her to lose the baby, (those people would be sent straight to Azkaban). Though that didn't stop some people as then people started to send it anonymously.
So Sirius and Dora had traipsed to Gringotts with all the letters in hand so they could be tract to the senders so they could be fined by both the Ministry and by Gringotts (who added interest) and have magical restraints placed upon them. But what had hurt Aurora the most was when George and Charlie had come home early to support her she received a floo call from Ron who had called her many names under the sun denouncing her as his friend and the baby as his niece and telling her that unless she admitted to what she had done she would not see him or Hermione again. When he started to turn even more nasty she still insisted Amaya was Fred's, George and Charlie stepped in giving him some cold hard home truths about himself that was long over due in their opinion before cutting the connection and blocking anymore calls from Hogwarts.
Due to all the undue stress she had been put under she suddenly went into early labour as she was only seven months pregnant. Remus quickly sent a patronus to Sirius, Dora and Andy who was working at St Mungos today and flooed her straight into Andy's office with George holding Teddy and Charlie with Teddy's and Aurora's bag behind him. As soon he arrived with a scared and in pain Aurora, Andy and some other healers rushed her off to a closed ward leaving the three men and baby in her office to wait for her daughter and cousin.
Not twenty minutes later Dora and Sirius arrived in a frantic state as they worried about Aurora and her daughter. "That's it!" Sirius raged. "I've had enough with Magical Britain! They can slander me all they want I don't care but to cause my daughter this much stress that they cause her to go into early labour we are leaving the country! I will not have them be put at risk anymore! Anyone who wants to move with me and Rory are welcome too but we are not staying here any longer!"
"Where would we go?" Dora asked her cousin as she knew for both herself and Remus that they would move with Sirius and Aurora they were fed up with Britain's backward ways and they didn't want Teddy to go through what Remus had, what all of them had.
"What about moving to Romania with me?" Charlie suggested. "There's plenty of families who live on the Reserve far away from the dragons and Teddy and Amaya will have plenty of children to play with. They're not prejudice against werewolves."
"I'm not staying here either." George said. "I made a promise to myself and to Fred to look after Rory and I'll keep my promise she's my sister and Amaya is my niece, and I still have to check Charlie here out." George teased. "I can let Lee run the shop in Diagon Alley and start a new one in Romania."
"That settles it then when Rory and Amaya are fit enough to leave we're moving to Romania but not before I heavily fine every single person who has caused Rory grief today." Sirius growled. As they all sat waiting in Andromeda's office waiting for news on Rory and Amaya they all prayed that they would both survive.
