(A/N: I'm putting a few non-requests for just an example of what I can do. This is when Bismuth was first introduced into the show, but your character already knows Bismuth from the war. In fact, your character was dating Bismuth during the war. This Oneshot was inspired by 0ScrewNames0 's story: "For the Greater Good" which is a part of their SU oneshot book [It is really awesome! 100% would recommend].)
I was watching Amethyst play Steven's game. That's when it all started. Steven had been wrestling with Lion, and decided to store whatever it was they were fighting over in lion's mane.
Steven popped out of the mane, landing on his back, "I've made a horrible mistake!"
Safe to say, that got our attention, "What?"
"Aw man!" That statement had distracted Ame long enough to make her lose the game.
"Hold on! I can fix it!" With that, Steven dove back in.
We quit the game and went to Lion to wait for an explanation from our little half-gem son.
When he popped out, he had this panicked look on his face, "There's a gem inside of Lion's mane!
"A gem?" It was easy to say we were all confused.
"Describe her."
"Hang on a sec," Steven went back in, then he was back, "She's big. ... With Rainbow hair and Tattoos."
My eyes widened, it can't be.
"Rainbow hair?" Pearl's brain started to think of who this gem might be, "What does her gem look like?"
Steven placed his hand square on his chest, "It's an innie."
Pearl repeated my thoughts from earlier, "It can't be."
"Can't be what?" It was understandable for Ame to be confused, she had never met the gem in question.
"I have to go," I walked on out of the house.
I could hear Garnet tell Steven to bring her out. This can't be happening...
~Bismuth's POV~
I got you this time. The human's head popped up once more from the pink plains.
I got on his level, "Hey little friend!"
He backed up, squealing just a bit in surprise.
"No don't go!" I stood, "I believe I'm lost. And there's no one here but us, so how about a little help?"
He looked down before extending his hand to me, and I took it.
Next I knew, I was being pulled through the ground. When I emerged, I looked back to see a very confused, and concerned pink lion. Then I locked eyes with them.
Pearl and Garnet. Two of three of my best friends. Though the third was much more than a friend.
An Amethyst spoke up, "Wow! A total stranger," Sarcasm dripped in her voice, but that didn't matter.
I was a little overwhelmed, and to be honest, afraid of how they would react to me. The last thing I did was attack Rose, "Pearl. Garnet."
"Bismuth!" Pearl came running at me, tears in her eyes. She engulfed me in a hug, "You're back!"
"Woah hey! The Pearl I know never jumps into my arms!" I started playing around like old times, "Hey! Did somebody lose a Pearl?" I held her out in my arms, "Who do you belong to?"
She beamed, "Nobody!"
I couldn't help but laugh, then it was Garnet's turn, "Alright alright! Settle down."
"Oh you're one to talk!" I smirk, "Oh sorry. You're two to talk."
She summoned her weapon, hitting me playfully, "Hey cool it! Your Ruby is showing."
"Where have you been? We thought you had been captured!" I sat Pearl down, "Or worse, shattered."
"Shatter me?" I was a little confused, "Homeworld couldn't lay a scratch on this gem!"
The Amethyst cleared her throat, "Who is this?"
Garnet answered her, "Guys, this is Bismuth. She's one of the original Crystal Gems."
"Oh hey! New recruits! Welcome aboard! We could always use more Amethysts!" I looked at the Human who pulled me out, "And who's this meatball?"
"Hi I'm Steven! You were in my lion, and now you're in my house."
I got closer to him, "Well thanks for having me."
Pearl seemed overjoyed, "I can't believe it! Rose said she lost track of you at the battle for the Ziggurat, she was worried sick!"
What? "Wait. Where is Rose?"
Steven spoke, "Hi, um, actually... I'm Rose's son. She kinda turned into me," What? "Well I have her gem, the rest is from my dad."
He pulled up his shirt, "Oh! There she is..."
"You... Do you know me?"
"No," thank the stars, "I'm so sorry."
"It's not always easy to understand Rose's choices," To say the least, "But we have to stand behind them."
"Rose really is something else," I was slightly angry, and mostly confused, "I mean... Look at this! She really is something else! Wow everything's changing! And we're building bases out of wood now?" I walked over to the edge where wood met the stone, "Who's terrible Idea was this? And where is everybody else?"
"Everybody else?"
"Yeah! The rest of the Crystal Gems! Crazy lace, Biggs, snowflake."
They gave each other a look, a thought struck me, "(Y/N)."
Steven pointed to the door, "Well (Y/N) just left."
That's all I needed to hear. I ran out the door.
~(Y/N)'s POV~
I can't... After all that I saw... I saw Rose poof Bismuth. I saw the love of my life get bubbled away, and Rose asked me not to tell a soul. And I didn't.
I heard Rose lie to them. I heard Rose tell them that she just lost my girlfriend, and I didn't say a thing. Rose sent her Gem away, and I did nothing. Just because the leader of the revolution, that I only joined because of Bismuth, asked me to keep quiet.
Tears filled my vision. I sat behind the stone hand that had fallen into the sand centuries ago. My back touched the cold stone. But, my entire body felt cold. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't think. My mind was a panicked haze. She has to hate me.
Bismuth, the person I love more than anything, hates me. My entire body trembled slightly. I softly bit the knuckle of my left thumb. I don't know why I do that, it was just a habit I picked up to help me calm down.
"(Y/N)!" Bismuth, "(Y/N)! Where are you? Steven told me you went out here."
I whispered, "I'm sorry."
It came out choked, and breathless.
"(Y/N)?" She was right behind me, "Are you okay? Where are you?"
I pulled my legs to my chest. I was breathing again, but it was heavy and slow. My hands made their way to my hair, running the digits through the strands over and over again.
I felt a hand on my head. Everything stopped. I looked at the owner of the hand, Bismuth.
"Hey," Her voice was shaky and concerned, "It's okay Lovely. I'm here."
I jumped into her open arms. Wrapping my arms around her neck like she was going to disappear. I finally had her back.
"I'm so sorry."
I kept repeating the phrase, "I'm so sorry."
She rubbed my back, "It's okay."
"I'm here."
"Don't worry."
"I'm back."
I pulled back, "I'm so sorry I didn't tell them! Rose told me not to! I was afraid. I was an absolute coward!"
She wiped my tears from my face, "You aren't a coward."
"Yes I am!" I laid my head on her shoulder, "I watched her lie about you for thousands of years. I mourned for you, knowing you were alive. I acted like nothing happened, but I knew what did happen."
"It's okay."
She held me back at arm's length, "I get it. You were afraid. I don't blame you. I just have to ask-"
I leaned forward, placing my forehead against hers.
"- do you still love me?"
I caught her lips in mine. It lasted for a solid minute. I channeled all my gref, all my fears, all my insecurities, into the kiss.
And when it broke I could only say one thing, "Welcome home."
