Naira signs the dotted lines on marriage form and handovers the pen to Kartik, Kartik signs the dotted lines below Naira's signature in his original name – 'Kartik Goenka'
Naira thinks she might have read it wrong, she slowly repeats 'Kartik Goenka' . He raises her head looking into her eyes and says "Yes, Naira" and smiles.
Naira gives a confused look before Naira can react or say anything. "I think we need to talk," he said peacefully.
The registrar who was unaware of the tension slowly building in the room said "Ok, sir as you said I will register your marriage with yesterday's date and you will receive the certificate within 2 days. Once again congrats Mr & Mrs Kartik Goenka"
Naira looks at the registrar with a disbelieving look. Kartik shakes his hand with the registrar; he says Namaste to Naira and leaves the room. Kartik goes to close the door. Naira stands like a statue looking at Kartik as if asking him to talk.
Kartik comes and stands in front of her, puts his hands in his pocket and says "I did not expect you to come to know my name this way. Chalo I think it was time to introduce myself to my wife" he smiles to her and forwarded hwas hand "Hey, I am Kartik Goenka, Goenka foundation ki CEO" Naira still cannot believe what she was hearing, she thinks maybe it was a dream, a bad dream which will disappear if she wakes up.
Kartik shakes his hand in front of her "come on Naira, say something. Was it exciting that the Singhania foundation CEO was married to the Goenka foundation CEO? Wow , the greatest business collaboration ever. What do you say?"
Naira still in shock said "you are Kartik Goenka then who was Kartik kumar"
Kartik: "No one. Actually Kartik Kumar's name was given to me by my kid brother. Hwas name was Kartik Goenka. We have a small bet between us in which he gave me the name of Kartik kumar, so you can say it was my alias name for two weeks, that's all"
Naira feels the earth under her was shaken, she catches the sofa near her and sits in it when Kartik starts his story...
[Flashback - three and half weeks back]
Kartik was still reading the project reports of the Goenka foundation, after their loss with Singhania for 1%, Manish insisted him to look at their rival companies, study them and then put his feet in the business world. One day Kush and Suhasini are talking casually, when Kartik starts shouting at some employees. Kush goes to rescue the employee from Kartik's anger.
Kush: Bhai tum ko na order dena janta hai order lena hai. Bechara employee
Kartik: Nothing like that I know the pulse of employee, I hate if an employee under performs, and what do you mean by order dena janta hu and even I worked under Chote Papa before and I use to accept the orders"
Kush: Bhai hear yourself, Dad, if you did any mistake also he won't say anything
Kartik: What do you mean by that, that I do all mistakes and Chote papa still supports me
Suhasini; No, if you work under someone whom you don't know then you will know the work pressure
Kartik: Dadi aap be wasse support karta hai
Suhasini: Kartik learned some patience, you cannot be so rude with employees. You will know the pain if are in their position
Kartik: Dadi, nothing like that I know the work pressures and as I said I use to work under Chote Papa and if situation comes even I can work under anyone to again the experience without thinking about my qualification
Kush: Oh really lagaye bet, work door ki baat hain just attend an interview and get an appointment letter, we will accept.
Kartik takes the newspaper nearby and gives it to Kush ,"Sure just point out any job in this paper I will get the appointment letter and show you"
Kush seriously starts checking the job columns. Suhasini, "You both stop it boys, I am going to my room". But here Kartik and Kush are well bent to irritate each other. Kush points to the PA post for Miss Singhania in the Singhania foundation.
Kartik: No way can I go for the interview with our rival company. In future I need to be CEO then it will be very embarrassing if they know that I worked under her as PA
Kush: Forget it then and accept you are bossy and -
Kartik: No I won't,
Saying Kartik goes from there, In the evening Kush throws a party to his friends who come to India, Kartik joins them in the club. All are enjoying their drinks. They are little talli due to hard drinks except Kartik. Everyone sits starts their betting game, due to Kartik Kush getting a slap of a girl which hurts his male ego.
Kartik still laughing ,"So how is the slap"
Kush: Fine now it is your turn
Kartik: Ready for the bet
Kush grins and says,"You need to apply for PA post of Miss Singhania and have to work for two weeks under her as PA"
Kartik expression changes into murderous,"I am going to kill you"
Kush: "Www even I feel the same", both start their fists fight making the club upside down. Kartik and Kush leave for the house.
Kush says, "Still my bet is on or bend on your knees in front of me and say you are sorry"
Kartik :No way I will never say sorry to anyone so forget it
Kush: "Okk then" shows his hand "the bet is on"
Kartik "ok let's see"
Kush goes from there bringing his laptop and sits on Kartik's bed, where Kartik lies on his bed after changing into shots.
Kush : What shall I write your name as Kartik or Kartik Goenka
Kartik without opening his eyes, "on what?"
Kush: On PA online application form"
Kartik sits with a jerk "kya"
Kush,"Yes I am filling the PA application form for Singhania foundation, are you afraid of Naira Singhania? Yeh wohi ladki hain na jiska photo paa tu fida hoga tha" starts laughing.
Kartik: Shut up, Kartik kisise daar tha nahin, fine the bet is on and if I get the job then will you help me in my Mumbai project
Kush: Why should I
Kartik: I will talk with Manish papa to give you permission to roam around India and even I will convince Chote Papa as well
Kush sees the offer tempting,"But my bet is you should work with Naira for two weeks"
Kartik: "No, let me change the bet a little, I will get the appointment letter and you will work for me in my Mumbai project, then I will make dad accept for your India darshan and later if I work under her for two weeks then you will join me in business completely, soch lo"
Kush says "fine"
Kartik and Kush sits and starts filling the form Kush "what shall I keep the name, Kartik or something else" Kush suggest different weird names, Kartik makes faces , he says "Even I need a graduate certificate on the name"
Kush thinks and says "that we can create not a big deal, select the name first, chalo tum bhi kya yaad rakhoge I will give you your name..vese bhi yahan per koi aapko Kartik Goenka ke naam se nahi sab ko lagta hia aapka naam Siddharth hai" saying Kush enter his first name in the column "Kartik ...." "Yes Kartik kumar. How is it"
Kartik, "Not bad", Kush enters other details as a graduate. Kartik goes to the interview and gets the job and makes Kush work with him. Rest is history.
[End of flashback]
Kartik has no intentions to join Singhania foundation, as he is sure Kush won't join the business though he wins the bet. In the heat of the challenge he got the appointment letter and later he decided not to join the company but as he checks Naira's track record he gets impressed so he decides to continue the charade and work under her for 2 weeks to know the better way to work. But Kartik did not reveal this to Naira, completed saying that he joined her to fulfill the bet with Kush. Before marriage Kartik even thinks to reveal his identity to Naira but something stopped him is it fear of losing her or the lust, he doesn't know. He even did not revealed her that he resigned the job before completing his bet.
