Your POV

I went up to the infirmary. I felt like I was in a trance. Everything I had prepared for, and thought to be true, all got solved in a matter of minutes. My bracelet had magic all along, but why did it only work when he was leaving? And what if it didn't? Will Harry be normal when I meet him?

The lady who seemed to be heading his case told me he was absolutely fine, he just came in a bit winded. I was relieved. There was so much that could have gone wrong.

I slowly entered the baby blue room to see him lying on the hospital bed, eyes closed. I couldn't tell if he was asleep or just relaxing, but my question was answered in seconds.

His eyes shot open as he gave me a warm smile. "(Y/N)."

"Harry." I walked over. We just stared at each other for a while.

I didn't know what to say, so I began with the most basic of questions. "How are you feeling? Are you okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm absolutely fine. Thanks to you. What about you? It couldn't have been easy on your side either."

"I was a bit low on energy at first, but I'm doing good." I assumed he was talking about the aftermath of the magic, and not the...everything else.

It was silent. I didn't expect it to be so hard to make conversation. There was too much to address and neither of us wanted to be the first to bring it up.

"So..." He started.

"So...?"

He laughed. "So you have magic?"

I bit my lip. "Um, yeah, I guess I do."

"That's amazing, who would have thought?" He went on and on raving about the possibilities.

I cut in, not being able to ignore the more important matter for any longer. "Is that really the most pressing issue at hand, Hook?"

He went silent and just stared at me for a second. Then sarcastically chuckled, "Wow, that's convenient."

I was confused. "What do you mean by that?"

"You just called me Hook."

"I know I did, it just came out. What's the big deal?"

"That's the first time you've ever called me Hook."

"It was just reflex."

He sat up. "Exactly." I looked at him, unsure what he was getting at. He went on. "Isn't it funny that suddenly, your instinct was to call me Hook, and not Harry?"

"You call me (y/n) and princess interchangeably so I don't understand what the problem is."

"That's entirely different. The problem is that Lydia spelled me, I acted horridly, and now you called me Hook without even thinking about it. Hook. See, when someone hears the name Harry, what do they think of? Maybe a bucket full of dinosaurs. Or the boy who lived. But that's it. It's just a name. Now Hook is different. You hear the family name Hook and you think of one of the most maniacal, wicked villains there ever was. You called me Hook, because some part of you still doesn't believe that I had no role in this scheme."

"That's not true! Harry," I took an extra second to make sure I called him that, "you're usually proud of your father, and want everyone to know whose son you are. What changed?"

"I realized he was a villain, and villains are not role models. Villains ruin people's lives."

"But he's still your father. Either way, I'm sorry for calling you Hook. I didn't know you were so changed."

"I'm just conflicted right now, the spell took a bit of a toll on me. You didn't answer truthfully before though - I know you well enough to understand. You changed the topic fast - fast enough that you were hoping I wouldn't pursue it anymore."

"I-"

"Lydia was controlling me (y/n). From every word to the tiniest gesture. It was all her."

"I know."

"Then why did you call me Hook?"

"Because... because of the kiss. It didn't work Harry."

"That's simple. This spell was different."

"Of course I know that. But still..."

"You're doubting it. You're wondering if what we had was ever real. And even if it was, is it real enough to fight for now? I'm right, aren't I?"

I nodded in response. How do I stop seeing him as the villain? Every time I look over I remember the day he walked out of my room.

"I'm too tired to think about this now." He concluded.

"So am I," I responded. "But we'll be fine. I think it might just take some time."

"Don't bother about it, come here." He motioned for me to sit next to him on the bed. "There's so much I need to share with you, and I'm sure you have much to tell me as well, but it's okay. We have forever to catch up, right?"

"Yeah." I smiled.

"I don't know if you know this, but I'll tell you anyway. I thought it was breathtaking, personally." He added.

"Go on." I laughed.

"Your eyes. When your bracelet began transferring energy or magic - or whatever it was - to me, your eyes changed colours. They became a deep violet - absolutely mesmerizing."

"My eyes became purple?"

"'Purple' doesn't do justice to the colour, but if you want to call it that, go ahead."

"Wow."

We both turned our heads at someone knocking at the door. "Come in!" He said loudly.

It was Fairy Godmother. "Ah (y/n), I figured I'd find you here." She glanced at Harry. "How are you holding up Harry dear?"

"I'm well, thanks for asking."

"I hope you don't mind if I ask you a few questions (y/n)."

"Of course, go ahead."

"It was pretty lucky how Harry woke up at just the right moment, wasn't it?" She's suspicious.

"Yeah, it was just like out of a fairytale." I shot a look at Harry to make sure he didn't say anything.

"Almost like magic." She implied.

I forced a laugh. "Yeah, almost."

"So, do you know anything about how he woke up? Did someone give you something? An antidote, or a potion?"

"No, nothing of the sort." I paused. "But actually, I may have a hunch as to what helped him wake up."

"And what would that be?"

"I've heard of something - something that actually helped Cinderella when Anastasia used time travel to almost marry Prince Charming. Have you heard of true love's touch? You know, a person can realize who their true love is, just by the touch of their hand."

She thought about it for a second. "I'll look into that, you may be right." Content with this, she finally left the room.

I exhaled, then began to explain to Harry. "We can't let anyone outside our group know about the bracelet. Knowing Fairy Godmother, she'd confiscate it, or send it to the museum. She could barely come to terms with me using the carpet, let alone actual magic!"

"Yeah, you're right - but did you just come up with that "true love's touch" excuse? Wouldn't she know it was a lie, since she was a part of Cinderella's story?"

"Harry, I didn't come up with that - it actually happened!"

"What? No way."

"It did." I laughed.

He shook his head. "Crazy."

My phone began to buzz with a sudden influx of messages from the News app.

"Harry, can I turn on the TV for a second?"

"Here, go ahead." He handed me the remote.

I went straight to the local news channel and nearly dropped the remote after reading the headline.

Harry began to read it out loud, in shock. "Villain Lydia Gothel, taken into custody earlier this afternoon, escapes under the watch of the Auradon Royal Guard. Her current whereabouts are unknown, and we advise all unnecessary outings or gatherings to be cancelled immediately."

Without thinking, I picked up my phone and dialled him as quickly as I could. "Ben, what happened?"

~

Lydia, wherever she is: "You didn't think this was the end of the story, did you?"
