It is almost ready....it smells good isn't it?" I asked her. Mishika was too happy that she kept peeping at the dish.
"Don't touch! It's still hot" I said.
"Oooo....okay" she whispered. I nodded my head and went to the main hall. Aadhvik was working there on his laptop. It's good. Let him not know I am cooking something here. He first looked at me and then down.
"Where is Mishika?" He asked.
Such a good and beautiful wife he has and he still searches for her. Jackass! I now can feel my mom vey much. It's hard to not be the center of attraction for your husband anymore. Auch!
"Mishika is inside. You never tend to ask for me if I am not here. It's okay you have changed." I said with all pitty look on my face. But Aadhvik isn't dumb.
"You are big enough to handle yourself Esha. Mishika isn't. She is still small." he comments.
"But still! You....you used to never let me touch your jaguar even once and Mishika....when she broke the car glass you never said anything to her. Just accept the fact!" I blamed him.
"Uff...Esha! You are being possessive!" He said.
"What is wrong in that? I am being possessive about my husband" I crossed my hands.
"There is nothing wrong. What is wrong is that you are getting possessive because your husband is close with your daughter. Boys are apparently more close to their mom. Maybe you should consider having a baby boy then," he said typing something on his laptop.
I looked at him all so shockingly.
"Why do you look like a drowning whale?"
"Did you talk to Dua today?" I asked.
"Yeah she called me morning to ask something about Zayd. Why?" He asked.
"Ma......." Mishika called me.
"I have to go." I hurried to the kitchen and find the whole dish down on the floor.
"Mishika what is this?" I gritted my teeth showing my great-great annoyance.
"Sorry," she said with a small mischievous laugh in her face. She is laughing after putting down my whole hardwork down on the floor.
"Mishika. Do you have sense? I told you not to touch and you threw this down. Now you are gonna clean this up!" I said
"NO!" She screamed.
"Mishu!!!!! I will tell Aadhvik then."
"Even I will Huh!" She went running to him and sat on his lap moving his laptop away.
"What happened Simba?" He asked. Mishika tries hiding her laugh but looks at me with all smiles on her face and whisperers something in Aadhvik's ears.
"It's okay don't worry...." He says.
"What do you mean by don't worry? I won't clean the mess that she made there." I was so stubborn on my argument.
"Clean it up Esha please" he said pleasing me with his eyes. God! Him and his eyes!
"Fine." I said trying to hide my small smile.
"Shall we play now?" Mishika asks.
"Yeah we will. Come!" he carried her and went upstairs to the room. I went back to kitchen and hardly cleaned and mopped the floor. Finally I was done. Things I do for him! I then made his cold coffee. Once it was done, I switched off the lights everywhere and went upstairs because it was almost time for bed.
I entered the room and it was an other mess inside there. With all pillow covers and bed spread out. Mishika hitting Aadhvik with her toy and some nonsense was taking place.
"Aadhvik! Mishika!" I shouted.
"Shhhhh she came." Mishika whispers.
Before I could begin throwing my frustration in the form of words, Aadhvik spoke, "We will clean this up. We will right?" He looks at Mishika.
"Yeah Ma. We will." Mishika nodes her head. I didn't tell anything but stood glaring at both of them. I wasn't ready to remove my gaze away not even for a second. They were quick, they cleaned it pretty quickly than I expected.
"Done, we can sleep now." Mishika has a wide beam as if she has done the whole work. Well let me not disappoint her so I complemented her telling good job and her beam wided even more.
"Your cold coffee Aadhvik." I gave him and went and sat on the bed scrolling on my phone.
While Mishika and Aadhvik kept playing some sort of stupid things which I don't even know what it is. No one can address Aadhvik as a billionaire if they see him with Mishika.
Reticuolouse!
"Enough Mishika sleep now." I said arranging the pillow for her while Aadhvik drank his cold coffee.
"I wanna ask you something Ma." she said.
"Ask quickly, you will have to sleep now."
"How did you and papa meet first?" She asked so curiously with all her eyes widened.
I cleared my throat and said, "Your dad hit my scotter with his black jaguar!"
Aadhvik was about to puke his cold coffee out.
"Is it Mufasa?" Mishika asked him.
I rolled my eyes in all direction to tell a yes and thank goodness for the first time Aadhvik decided to cooperate with me.
"Then?"
"Then I was very intelligent so your dad employed me in his office. I was pretty too so he liked me and apparently we got married. And then after two years you were born. Hehe" I said. Her smile windened so much when I said she was born. How cute she looks with her little grey eyes filled with excitement.
"Mufasa, but Ruhi Masi is prettier than Ma. You could have married her." Mishika says.
"Yes Mishika. Ruhi looks very pretty. Beautiful than you mom. I should have married her but what to do." Aadhvik said so worriedly.
"If you dad didn't marry me, you would have been non existent by now. Sleep." I threw the blanket upon her and she kept squealing and running around like a little rabbit but I was so determined. I made her sleep finally. Seeing her sleep so peacefully with her tiny palms and fingers wrapped in the blanket can bring the atmost happiness.
"Do you have any plans of sleeping?" Aadhvik asked.
"Yeah I do. By the way this weekend I am going out for shopping with Dua. You make breakfast for Mishika." I said.
"Eh? Shopping? I am.not giving my credit card"
"You don't have to give me......I will take it."
"Esha....." His voice was pretty loud this time.
"Shhh..... Mishika will wake up I cannot struggle with her now for sleep. She is already so much sound sensitive. Shut up Aadhvik." I threw a pillow on him.
"I am not giving my credit card! Get lost." he whispered.
"Get lost?" Mishika rubbed her eyes and got up.
"Who is gonna be lost?" she sits up on Aadhvik's lap hugging him. I glared at Aadhvik and he wasn't even ready to look at me because he knows no one can make Mishika sleep if she wakes up in the middle of the night.
"YOU YOURSELF MAKE HER SLEEP!" I got up from the bed and went to the room next by. I want some peace atleast when I sleep. I was all ready to sleep and Aadhvik completely ruined it. So I decided to read my favourite novels.
After an hour or so, there was a knock on the room door. "Esha....." Aadhvik called. What the hell? He still didn't sleep? I went and opened the door. He saw me and my novel.
"You didn't sleep?" He asked.
"You thought I would? You ruined my sleep. Get out from here. Where is Mishika?"
"She slept hardly. I thought of coming and calling you." He said sitting on the bed.
"It's okay Mr. You don't have to waste your precious time on your wife. She is not worth it you may leave!" I rolled my eyes.
"What happened now? Why you being so dramatic nowadays?"
"Nothing Aadhvik. I am alright." I said.
"By the way what should we buy for Mishika's birthday. Something that she loves."
"Shall I ask you something Aadhvik?" I asked and I started asking without waiting for his reply. "Have you ever gifted something on my birthday?"
"What is this ring in your hand? I gave it on your twenty sixth birthday!" He said holding my hand.
"You gave this when I was pregnant! I am asking what did you give me after Mishika was born? You don't give me any surprises but for Mishika...." I found some stupid reasons to blame and complain him.
"Because Mishika is my daughter" he said so innocently with a small smirk.
"If she is your daughter then I am your wife." I gave my arguments.
"But Esha....Mishika is my daughter....My blood"
"Our blood." I gritted my teeth
"Fine our blood. " he nodded his head.
"What about me then?" I asked with a small cry escaping from my throat.
"You are Varnav Uncle's blood. Haven't you heard blood is thicker than water. So obviously I will love her more." he said with a very wide smirk now.
"Really? This is what I don-" I was stopped when Aadhvik pulled my hand and leaned against the wall.
"You spend almost a bulk of money every month do I question you something?" He whispers.
"NO!" I nod my head.
"Have I ever said that I won't take you out or not do something you wished for?"
"NO!"
"Then why? Enough of this cat mouse fights." He again whispered with his hands running around my hair and my body was getting electric sparks all around. I tip toed myself and he came down. His hand moving around my waist drawing circle like pattern on my hip which made me shiver a bit. I moved my lips against his, wanting more, but more of what, I cannot say. I could still taste the cold coffee on his lips. He steps closer, until our bodies touch, then his other hand comes up, the warm fingers grasping my waist, pulling me even closer still. I am lost in his kiss, and all my defenses give way before this hot, hungry mystery that lies between us. After three years I get this close to him. His cold breath coming against me as I closed my eyes was all I remember lastly.
######
I could heard the birds sound outside the window. I finally opened my eyes and could see the sun rays peeping through the curtains. Aadhvik hands was wrapped around me , holding me right and closer that I could hear his heart beat clearly. I felt more safe and secure for some reason. I looked up at him and he had such a deep sleep. I brushed his hair with my long nails and he took my hand and held it still sleeping. Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
Who the hell is that? I locked the door at night. I yawned and the rusted tubelight inside my brain lit open.
MISHIKA!
SHIT HOW DID I FORGET THAT SHE WAS SLEEPING ALONE.... GOD DAMN IT!
I jumped up from the bed and woke up Aadhvik.
"Mishika is knocking the door! Wake up Jackass." I screamed on his ears. He so casually stretched his hands and rubbed his eyes trying to vanish off his sleep.
"Mishika only right. Two minutes." he hugs me cuddling.
"Moron!" I push him away and went to open the door for Mishika.
"You tend to forget me when she comes." He comments. I didn't even hear him. I unlocked the door and opened it. Mishika was there standing with a sleepy face and a doll on her hand.
"Good morning Mishika." I have her a wide smile as a welcome. She didn't even bother to look at me once.
"Mufasa....." She said with her sleepy tone rubbing her eyes and went to sleep next to him. And Aadhvik as so loving as he is always, hugged her back. Right now he said I forget him when Mishika comes and now look at him.
JACKASS!
Suddenly my brain reminded me of an other deadly thing. What if Dua's words come true? Is Mishika's birthday gift gonna be whatever she asked for? Oh No! Esha......chuck this for now. Nothing like that will happen. It's okay! Stay calm. To divert myself from thinking about yesterday's night and Dua's words I went a had bath. When I came out I find Aadhvik tickling Mishika and she was all laughing and squealing around, jumping up and down.
"Now look who forgets whom!" I crossed my hands waiting for my dear husband's reply. But none of my words went inside his ears. He was all so busy with Mishika to even turn his gaze towards me.
"Now let me see who wins. Mufasa or Simba." Aadhvik questions.
"It's always Simba!" Mishika jumps.
"Whoever touches mommy will be the winner. Okay?" Aadhvik raises his eyebrows and Mishika thinks rolling her eyes to all corners.
"Fine! Simba is ready" she smiles.
"Get ready....1.....2....3" he says and quickly comes and hold me by my waist while Mishika came and grabbed my legs. She looked up and find Aadhvik chuckle.
"I won!" He said.
Mishika whimpers and stretches her hand up telling me to pick her up. I smiled at how she cute she looks and picked her up slowly. She hugged me and looked at Aadhvik who was standing behind me.
"Simba won too, Mufasa!" She whispered with a small smirk on her face of accomplishment.
"Yes my Simba won." Aadhvik patts her head. Mishika jumps to him and kisses him on his cheeks. Aadhvik then thows her up on the air and they start playing.
What can be more adorable than this?
I can never explain the amount of love I have for this tiny women who is slowly growing up and I would never want to share this love with any other tiny human. It is quite surprising on how my opinion changed in these four years. At some point, I thought I can never love anyone more than Aadhvik but now here I am loving Mishika more than anything and I know Aadhvik loves Mishika just like me, in the same way. And I would never want anyone more in this world of mine.
