We finally made it to a new room after what felt like an endless run through the corridor.
Joseph suggested that we needed to leave the submarine as soon as possible and took us to a room full of scuba diving gear.
"Is anyone else getting nervous here?" Polnareff asked as the room started to shake. Judging by the rumbles and shakes coming through the submarine, the High Priestess was on the prowl after us.
"Try to stay calm," Joseph said as he attempted to strap an oxygen tank to his back with only one hand.
Nori helped me get my oxygen tank on and I helped him with his. "Is that okay for you?" He asked as he fastened a strap around my waist. I nodded and glanced over at Joseph who was still struggling with his oxygen tank.
"Here, Mr. Joestar, let me help," I offered as I walked over to him and assisted him in fastening his oxygen tank to him.
"Thank you, Y/N." Joseph gave me a curt nod and turned to the rest of the group. "Alright, has anyone ever scuba dived before?" He asked.
"Nope," we all said in unison.
"You'll have to teach us how to use this equipment right now. That thing is going to attack us any second," Avdol warned.
"Try and calm yourself, Avdol. You must never panic, no matter what. That is the most important rule when scuba diving," Joseph said as he glanced over at Avdol before looking back at the rest of us. "When you're traveling underwater, for every ten meters you go below the surface, the corresponding pressure increases along with you. The surface pressure starts at one atmosphere, and since we're forty meters below the surface, we'll endure five atmospheres of pressure. If we surface too quickly, the pressure will cause our lungs and blood vessels to burst. We have to rise slowly, so our bodies can adjust," he explained.
I shuddered at the thought of our lungs and blood vessels bursting because of surfacing too quickly. It wasn't a pleasant thought.
"Since we're nearing the Egyptian coast, it's best to ascend along the sea floor," Joseph said as he turned to face a valve. "Alright, I'm letting the water in," he announced as he slowly turned the valve. The water from the pipe slowly poured into the room. Joseph turned back to us and held out a mouthpiece. "Now, listen closely. This is a regulator. The valve inside only allows air in the tank when you inhale. The air you breath out exits the piece on the left."
Nori tried breathing through the regulator to test it out whilst Polnareff looked at Joseph with a concerned look on his face. "Wait a second. What about spit? When happens if I need to drool or hock a loogie or something?"
I looked over at the Frenchman with a look of disgust. "Why would you even ask that?
Polnareff shrugged and said, "I just wanted to know in case it happens."
"That stuff comes out of the opening here." Joseph pointed at another opening on the regulator. "And this goes without saying, but we can't talk underwater, instead we'll use hand signals. Let's keep things simple and only use two. When things are going smoothly; we'll use this to say 'OK'." He made an OK signal with his hand. "And when they aren't; use this," he added and held his hand out flat with his thumb out to the side and rocked this hand from side to side.
"Mr. Joestar. I think you might have forgotten that Scarlet Phantom is able to listen to other Stand user's thoughts and speak to them. Maybe we could use her to relay any messages that we need to get across?" I suggested as Scarlet Phantom stepped forward.
"That's right, for example, I've just read Polnareff's mind, and he had an idea for a 'really good' hand signal," she said in air quotes as she glanced over at Polnareff and folded her arms across her chest.
"And a really good one it was as well!" He huffed as he clapped his hands and held two fingers up, then an OK sign. He ended the signal by holding his hand over his brow line and tilted himself to the side.
"He said, 'your underwear is showing'," Nori translated.
"Yeah! Nice!" Polnareff turned to face the redhead and started doing some weird handshake together and finished it off with bumping their arms together.
"Urgh... I'm surround by idiots..." Scarlet Phantom grumbled as she shook her head with her brow furrowed.
"Nori and I don't have a secret handshake, and I've known him longer..." I frowned as I folded my arms over my chest and let out an annoyed huff.
"We could be attacked and killed at any time! Stop fooling around and let's go!" Joseph growled.
We all nodded and put the remainder of our equipment on moments before our heads went underwater.
Joseph swam up to the ceiling and turned the wheel to open the top of the submarine before he turned back to look at us and gave us the 'OK' signal.
We returned the gesture the gesture, however Polnareff started to flail his arms around as bubbles escaped from his regulator. We all looked at him in worry.
Suddenly, arms grew out of his regulator and the High Priestess revealed itself and bit onto Polnareff's lip, drawing blood.
"When the hell did it get in here?" Scarlet Phantom growled from beside me.
"That's it. The Stand already integrated with the regulator!" Nori exclaimed. It looks like my plan worked with Scarlet Phantom's telepathy ability and I couldn't help by smile to myself.
"That bastard..." Jotaro growled. "It's going to rip him apart from the inside!"
The High Priestess wriggled its way out of Polnareff's mouth.
"We've gotta drain the room while we still can!" I exclaimed.
"It's too late. It must have been lying in wait for just this moment," Avdol said.
Star Platinum materialized beside Jotaro and his arm shot out towards Polnareff to grab the Stand, but it was too late. The High Priestess started to worm its way down the Frenchman's throat.
"Dammit!" Jotaro growled.
"It's already burrowing down his throat! We can't stand here watching him like this!" Avdol reached out to Polnareff, his dark brown eyes filled with worry. "What should we do?" He panicked.
"Nori, Mr. Joestar! Use your Stands to reach down his throat and grab the Stand!" I ordered.
"Got it! Hierophant Green!" Nori's Stand materialized beside him whilst Joseph's Hermit Purple shot out of his arm. Both Stands lunged themselves at Polnareff and went up both of his nostrils.
"Hey! What're you doing?" The Frenchman grunted in pain.
"I was able to grab it before it was able to damage his organs!" Joseph announced.
"Me too." Nori nodded. "Let's pull it out before it transforms."
As the two men started to pull High Priestess out, I could make out the lump of the Stand in Polnareff's throat and knew that the plan had worked.
"Alright, keep it just like that," Jotaro said as he prepared to launch an attack on the enemy Stand when suddenly, it transformed into something else before Star Platinum could lay a fist on it.
My eyes widened at what the High Priestess had transformed into. It turned into a spear gun!
Hierophant Green use Emerald Splash which ended up missing as the spear gun shot a spear towards us.
"Silver Chariot!" Polnareff summoned his Stand, and its sword deflected the enemy's attack. "Let's get moving!" He growled as the spear retracted back into the gun.
"Hurry!" I ordered as we all swam out of the submarine.
Once we were all out of the submarine, we slowly started to make our way up to the surface, taking our time as per Joseph's advice whilst keeping our guards up.
"That was too close for comfort," Nori grunted.
"It's too soon for us to relax. Especially since that bastard knows exactly where to hit us where it hurts most," Joseph lightly scolded.
"Polnareff, are you alright?" Avdol swam over to the Frenchman whilst Jotaro attached a regulator to his oxygen tank and handed it to Polnareff.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. You guys saved my life back there, merci beaucoup."
We continued to swim along the coral reef with Scarlet Phantom swimming ahead of us to look out for any signs of another attack.
"Wow, just look at how beautiful it is down here," Polnareff said as he looked around at all the different types of fish swimming around us.
"It is, isn't it? I think this would have been a really nice place to visit on vacation," I agreed as I swam beside the Frenchman.
"This isn't the time to plan your next getaway! We have to surface before we run out of oxygen," Joseph said as he came up beside us.
"Hey, look up there! I think it's a sea tunnel." Avdol pointed out two sets of tunnels ahead of us.
Joseph looked down at the meter attached to his equipment. "We're at seven meters. We've finally reached the Egyptian shore," he said as he looked up from the meter.
"We can swim along these rocks to get to the surface," Avdol suggested as he lowered himself towards the rocks.
I looked over at the formation of the rocks and noticed that they oddly resembled a face. "Hey, Scar? Come check this out," I called my Stand over.
Scarlet Phantom turned round and swam up to me. "What is it?" She asked.
"Take a look at these rocks. Don't they look like a face to you?" I pointed down at the rocks and her gaze followed to where I was pointing.
"You're right. Hang tight, I'm going to investigate," she said before swimming away. Before Scarlet Phantom could get any closer to the rocks, they started to move and reveal a pair of eyes and a set of teeth. The red-haired Stand stopped in her tracks and looked at the face in shock before swimming back up to me. "I had a feeling something wasn't right about these rocks," she growled.
"Me too." I nodded as I glared down at the face. The mouth on the face started to open and suck in the water around us to bring us closer to its mouth. "Shit! It's sucking us in!"
"I have to admit, this son of a bitch is a smart one. When I get my hands on its user, they're going to have hell to pay!" Scarlet Phantom growled as she grabbed onto me and spread her wings. The Stand flapped her wings to try and fight against the current, but it was no use. The current was too strong for the red-haired Stand and continued to pull us into the enemy Stand's mouth. Once we were successfully pulled inside the Stand's mouth, it slammed its mouth shut to trap us all inside.
"You're all so slow on the uptake! Didn't it ever cross your minds that if the rocks are mineral, it would mean that the seabed is mostly mineral to?" A female voice echoed around us.
I looked around but could barely see anything beyond my nose. It was completely dark. I knew we were still underwater as I felt myself float around.
"Of course! That's why the Stand has gotten stronger. Its user must be nearby, and I'd wager she's closer than we think," Nori growled.
"You guessed it! And to be more precise, I've seven meters above you on the shore. But since you're about to be ground to bits by my High Priestess, you'll never have a chance to see my face. So long!" She giggled as the Stand spat out the water in its mouth to leave us to fall onto its tongue.
I landed on the Stand's tongue and let out a grunt. "That damned bitch!" I growled as I slowly pulled myself to my feet.
"It's so dark in here. I can't tell what part of the Stand we're in," I heard Nori speak not too far away from me. I used the sound of his voice to make my way over to him with my hands out in front of me. My hand brushed against an arm which jumped slightly at my touch. "Who's that?" Nori's voice hissed. I smiled to myself knowing I was able to find him.
"It's me. I was trying to look for you," I whispered back to him.
I felt the redhead relax and wrap an arm around me. "Thank goodness you're okay," he said with a sigh a relief.
"It seems like we're still inside its mouth. Luckily, we weren't sucked down its gullet," Joseph said.
"Yoo-hoo! Jotaro! Believe it or not, you're actually my type, so this is going to be as painful for me as it will be for you," the female voice said.
"Say what now?!" I growled.
"But despite my feelings, I still have to make the High Priestess digest you," she continued.
"Oh, you're one dead bitch when I get my hands on you!" I yelled and went to lunge forward, only to be stopped by Nori as he pulled me into him.
"Don't let what she says get to you," he hissed into my ear.
"It's a shame things turned out this way. I would have loved to have seen your face, if only this once. You might have been my type too," I heard Jotaro say.
I whipped my head round in the direction of his voice. "You fucking what, Jotaro?!" I growled. I tried to lunge forward again, this time in Jotaro's direction and Nori pulled me back.
"Go along with it. I know where he's going with this," he whispered softly into my ear.
"How can you say that? You can't just let him say that sort of stuff when you know exactly what is going on between the three of us!" I hissed a little too loud.
"Huh? What's going on between you guys?" Joseph said from right behind me.
I jumped out of Nori's arms and spun round. "Nothing!" We said in unison as I felt the temperature in my cheeks rise.
"Y/N! That's it! I've just had an idea!" Scarlet Phantom said through my mind.
"I don't like your ideas..." I grunted.
"Just hear me out, will you? Jotaro's listening in too. Keep doing what you're doing! Jotaro, you go along with it too," she explained.
"But—"
"Just do it, dammit!" She cut off my protests.
I rolled my eyes. 'Great. Now Mr. Joestar is definitely going to know I have feelings for his grandson. Me and my big mouth!' I growled to myself as I walked over in Jotaro's direction. "Jotaro! What's the meaning of this? I thought I was your type?" I growled, putting my true feelings towards the delinquent into my words.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. But I think I might be into Rose. I think if I get to see her, I must just even fall for her," Jotaro said.
Light started to fill the Stand's mouth, allowing me to see Jotaro looking down at me. As our eyes met, he winked at me. It was as if he was reassuring me that he has no intentions of going after anyone else.
"I bet she is a beauty," Polnareff spoke up. "I can tell from the gorgeous voice of hers."
I rolled my eyes. Of course Polnareff would try to flatter Rose. Flirting was his language after all.
"She comes across and an elegant woman. My fortune-teller's instinct senses it," Avdol said.
"Well, if you ask me. She sounds just like Audrey Hepburn," Nori complimented.
I glanced over at the redhead with a raised eyebrow and mouthed, "Audrey Hepburn? Really?" Nori shrugged his shoulders in response as if that was the best he could come up with.
"Man, if I were only 30 years younger," Joseph trailed off.
The Stand's mouth started to rumble. "You bastards! You don't mean a single word of that! I'll kill you all!" Rose growled as the Stand's tongue started to roll back and flick up us into the air.
"Holy shit!" Joseph cried.
"Everyone, look out!" Nori called out as he pointed at the tongue.
"What is that?" Joseph exclaimed.
"It's the Stand's tongue to be exact. Here it comes!" I warned as the tongue came crashing down towards us.
"Jotaro!" Rose cried as Jotaro ran towards the Stand's teeth.
"No! Jotaro's going to land in..." Avdol stammered as the delinquent landed in the Stand's molars.
"He's landed right on the molars!" Joseph cried.
"Jotaro! Get out of there!" I yelled as I tried to run up to the molars and grab him before he got crushed, but Star Platinum materialized and held the molar up to stop it from going down any further.
"Oh? You want to put your strength against mine, do you?" Rose taunted as the two Stands pushed against each other. "Give up, Jotaro! These teeth are as hard as diamonds! You'll never be able to break them!"
"Fuck this shit! We have to save him, now!" I growled as Scarlet Phantom jumped to my side and together, we charged towards the Stand's teeth.
"Stay out of my way!" Rose growled as the Stand's tongue rolled towards us.
Scarlet Phantom jumped in front of me as her scythe materialized in her hand and dragged it along the Stand's tongue.
"Your teeth may be as hard as diamonds, but do they match the strength of my scythe?" Scarlet Phantom smirked as Rose cried out in pain.
A loud bang brought my attention back to where Jotaro was only to see that the teeth were now clamped shut. I looked at the teeth in horror.
He couldn't be dead.
I wasn't going to believe it – not until I had proof.
"Jotaro!" I cried as I ran over to where the delinquent was.
As I approached the molar, I was able to hear a faint "ORA!" come from the teeth repeatedly.
I smiled to myself. "I knew you weren't dead," I whispered before I turned to face the others. "Guys, get down!" I warned them as Star Platinum's ORA's started to get louder.
We all crouched down just as Star Platinum's fist broke through the molar. I looked up at the purple Stand and couldn't stop myself from smiling more as Star Platinum started to punch through the other teeth.
A hand came down in front of me and I looked up to meet Jotaro's blue orbs. "Come on, let's get out of this hell hole." He smirked down at me.
I was now grinning from ear to ear as I took Jotaro's hand. "You never cease to amaze me, Kujo," I said as he pulled me into his arms and held me in a tight embrace whilst Star Platinum continued to punch through the Stand's teeth to give us an opening to escape.
Once the way was clear, Jotaro released me and grabbed my hand as we all made our way out of the Stand's mouth.
As soon as we surfaced and reached the shore, the first thing I did was go and locate Rose, so I could give her a piece of my mind.
"Hey, there's a woman over there!" I heard Joseph call out. I looked over my shoulder to see him pointing to where he saw the woman. My gaze followed the direction he was pointing until it landed on a woman sprawled out on the floor.
"You!" I growled as I marched over to the woman and dragged her up to her feet. "Listen here, you cow, and listen carefully! If I ever hear you utter my boyfriend's name, I will hunt you down and murder you in your sleep! Do you hear me?!"
"Boyfriend?!" Joseph and Avdol exclaimed in shock. I chose to ignore them for the time being and deal with the current matter at hand.
"Do you understand me?!" I yelled in Rose's face when she didn't answer me the first time. Rose looked at me with wide eyes, like a deer caught in headlights, and nodded. "Good. Now, get out of my sight!" I threw her to the ground and watched her as she scrambled away from me.
Once she was gone, I sighed and turned back to face the group. Joseph and Avdol's jaws were gaped wide and Polnareff smirked over at me whilst Jotaro and Nori averted their gazes from me.
"Oh, put a sock in it. You should have guessed there was something going on." I rolled my eyes as I walked towards the group.
"B-but... I thought you were with Kakyoin?" Joseph looked at me with wide eyes as I walked over to Jotaro and Nori.
"That too." I shrugged as I wrapped my arms around the two teens. Jotaro and Nori's cheeks went red when I openly admitted I was dating both of them.
"I thought we weren't going to say anything yet?" Nori hissed down at me.
"Well, I kinda let the cat out of the bag thanks to Rose, so we may as well come clean." I glanced up at the redhead and saw his expression soften. Nori wrapped an arm around me and chuckled softly.
Jotaro pulled the brim of his hat over his eyes and slivered his arm around my waist as Joseph gasped and cried out, "OH MY GOD!!!"
