The drive to Luke's house was interesting, to say the least.

He had made every attempt to touch her in the smallest, the least satisfactory ways.

Luke would graze his fingers over her thigh, but if she made any attempt to shift closer, he would pull away. If he reached over to touch her hair, it would only be a moment before it slipped to the seat behind her.

He really was going to test her limits.

She developed a new habit in that time with Luke- biting her nails until she wanted to die. The pressure in her chest was too much, and she just yearned to jump at him and kiss him.

Actually, she had no idea why he didn't kiss her yet. It had been a few weeks after the whole fiasco with Patrick, and yet, nothing came from him.

He was making moves- just not big ones.

They arrived at his house, Evelyn glancing up to notice the sky. It was cloudy, looking as if it would rain.

Maybe it would.

She stepped out of the car, reaching to grab her bag but Luke beating her to it. He lifted the bag, shooting her hand away as he shrugged it onto his shoulder. Evelyn thanked him quietly as he locked the car and made his way to the house.

He opened the door, fitting the keys back in his pocket and closing it after the smaller girl. She meekly took off her shoes, sliding them next to the door and looking back at the boy with wide eyes.

She didn't know why she was acting shy all of sudden, but Evelyn made herself smaller next to him, leaning towards him.

Luke gently took her hand, leading her to the living room, "My parents aren't home yet, so we can just work in the living room if you want."

She nodded, trailing after him with her fingers wrapped around three of his. He laughed a little at her childish behavior, for some reason clinging more to him.

They sat down, pulling out their math books and beginning to work.

——

"Luke! Stop throwing Skittles at me and work!"

Luke smirked to himself, throwing one in the air and catching it with his mouth. He held a red one in his fingers, tossing it at the girl's hair while she was not paying attention.

She groaned, stopping her pencil movements to look at the boy.

"Luke Robert Hemmings."

He ignored her, throwing another in the air. Finally, she screamed from the back of her throat, fisting his shirt and shaking the boy.

While she was definitely smaller than her, her force shook him slightly. He grabbed her wrists, tugging them so they landed in his chest.

Evelyn looked down at her wrists tight in his grasp, peering through her lashes up to the boy. His lips were not all that far from hers,
and the urge to kiss him was ever increasing.

Slyly, Luke grabbed both of her wrists in one hand, holding them above her head and pushing her back so that she laid her back on the couch.

Evelyn's eyes widened so much she would've thought they would pop out of her head. Luke was towering over her on his knees. Her body was completely laid on the couch, one of her legs almost off the couch as Luke shifted his knees up to get closer to the girl.

"Luke," she was breathless, vulnerable with her hands useless.

Then, he began to tickle her.

His fingers ran up and down her sides as she began to burst in first of giggles, trying to get out of the hold. She convulsed, arching her back and twisting to pick herself up off the couch.

"S-stop Luke!" She began to laugh even harder as he tickled even harder.

Finally he stopped, laughing as he took the hand he was using to tickle her to spread on her stomach. His fingers were flat on her stomach, gently calming her laugh to mere giggles.

He leaned to her, his eyes making firm contact with hers.

A sound caught both of their attentions.

Pitter patter.

It was rain outside. Luke turned his head for a moment to look out the window, seeing it was in fact raining.

He lifted himself off of the girl quickly, excitedly pulling up Evelyn to a sitting position. Her hair fell back in place.

Luke stood up and headed straight for the door, nearly yanking the girl to follow behind him.

He exited the house, the rain now pouring outside. The sky darkened into a gravel-grey. Large pillows of cloud were formed, blotting out the old-gold colour of the sun. Rain was dropping hard, the sound loud and echoing in a cacophony.

"Luke! What are you doing?" He laughed loudly, running into the rain and pulling the girl after him.

"Living!"

She paused to look around at the rain, her hair darkening as well as her clothes.

Every time something bad had happened with Patrick; there was rain. When he stood her up for the date- it was pouring. When he tried to push her into doing something she didn't want to, it was a dark, miserable night of rain.

And yet, Luke changed it completely. He turned the rain into someone positive, meaning something different than it had before.

He made the rain happy.

Evelyn turned back to the boy, his arms outstretched to the rain with his head tilted up.

He looked down at the girl, a wide smile sparkling in his eyes.

Before she could change her mind, Evelyn reached up and kissed him.

Luke reacted quickly, holding her face in his large hands. Her hands gripped his wet shirt, pulling him much closer than before. His lips gently moved to match hers, the lip ring cold against her warm lips.

She sighed in relief, thankful she could do what she had been waiting for.

Luke pulled away, eyes still closed as he breath-laughed.

"Finally," he whispered, "I've been waiting forever for that."

"Why didn't you do it earlier?"

Luke opened his eyes now, rubbing his thumb against her cheek, "I wanted you to be comfortable."

Her heart soared, a bright feeling spreading over her at the thought of him taking his time with her because he didn't want to hurt her. Thought it was cold and wet, all she could feel was warmth.

"Can I kiss you again?"

She nodded as he brought his lips to hers once more, sliding his hands down to her waist. He lowered his hand to below her butt, pushing her up to wrap her legs around him.

She squealed, laughing as he spun her around in the pouring rain. Evelyn's hands wrapped tight around his neck, pulling him so that her chest was flush to his.

He tiled his head up, kissing her again.

And then again.

She smiled against his lips as he continued to kiss her over and over again.

Luke felt as though he couldn't get enough of her, holding her as though letting her go would mean she disappeared forever. His hand slid up, reaching under her wet shirt to touch her cold skin with his warm hand.

He pulled away from her lips once more, resting his forehead against hers.

"Wow."

She giggled, "Wow is right."

"Alright, let's get inside. I don't want you getting sick. Let's change you out of these clothes."

——

"Are you sure I can borrow these?" Evelyn clutched the clothes in her hand.

"Yes Eve," he said for what seemed like the tenth time.

"But- I keep stealing your clothes."

He turned to her, pushing the clothes more in her hands, "Baby."

She sighed, her body relaxing immediately at the word, "I love when you call me that."

He ran his hand through her hair, tilting her head up to kiss her once more, "I know you do. Now please go out the clean clothes on."

She took the large sweatshirt and shorts from the boy. Luke then turned around and closed the door after him.

Carefully, she peeled off the wet clothes, decided to take off her bra as well and leaving on only her underwear. The sweater was thick enough that she figured it would cover her nipples enough.

She pulled the shorts up, tightening the satin material as tight as possible to keep the loose cloth tight on her waist. It was big even at the tightest, barely staying on her waist.

Out of the corner on her eye, she noticed a pair of socks sitting in the pile of clean clothes. They were white, clearly long.

She grabbed the socks and unraveled them, fitting them on her cold feet and immediately warming them up. Evelyn ran her hands up and down them, the warmth of the cloth immediately feeling better.

She walked out of the room, her steps quiet as she walked in to the living room to where the boy was. Luke was there, wearing a new set of dry clothes. His hair was wet, ruffled as though it was perfectly styled.

Evelyn stood in front of him, catching his attention. He bit his lip, shifting in his place as he looked at her clothes, his eyes stopping at her socks.

"These look nice," he gestured towards them as she reddened and looked down.

He stood up, looking around and placing his keys in his pocket.

He peered at his watch, "It really is time for us to get going for dinner."

She nodded, wrapping her arm around his as though he was a prince and she was a little princess. He smiled at the action, leaning down to kiss her.

"I don't think I'll get used to that."

They got in his car, making their way to The Fleet.

When they arrived, Luke turned to the girl.

"You're wearing my clothes because you went out during the rain. Okay?"

She nodded as he murmured, "Good." Girl.

Breathe Luke. Not the time.

He shook his head, trying to get rid of the dirty thought in his head. He opened the car and closed his side, tempted to open the girl's but knowing how suspicious it already looks.

Evelyn opened her door, walking quickly to catch up with the boy and enter the restaurant.

There, everyone else was waiting.

I guess we were late.

Calum and Michael were discussing something, Kate having a very thorough conversation with Hailey and Ashton. Calum peered over to the two walking in, his face dropping at Evelyn wearing Luke's oversized clothes.

"Why are you wearing that?" His tone was sharp, accusative already.

"I went out while it was raining, so I just had to get out of the wet clothes or I'd be sick," she explained smoothly, fitting into the booth.

Luke sat across from her as to avoid any questioning looks. He agreed with what she was saying and pulled out his phone.

A message pinged on Evelyn's phone.

Luke: Good girl.

He put the phone away, watching her reaction. She looked up at him, immediately hiding her phone screen from the eyes of Kate sitting next to her.

She swallowed visibly, biting the inside of her cheek at those words. Evelyn shifted in her seat and tried to keep her cool.

Nevertheless, her heart was racing.

I still got to say it, he smirked to himself.
