Luz stumbles into an owl after walking home from school, leading her into an unnatural world. She makes friends, something she has never had before, along with new forming feelings for a certain Blight. Amity decides she wants to surprise the human with a visit, only to learn it might be her last. After a grudgby accident brings Luz and Amity together, Luz learns the horrifying truth of Amity's past and present while working through her own. Wanting nothing more than to help each other in their time of need, Luz and Amity unintentionally set out on a journey of coping, understanding, and growth as they begin to heal from their respective trauma while being there for one another. Rated T for mild language and depictions abuse. Warnings are available at the beginning of chapters when applicable. Not beta read.

Before Luz left, an oath was made. An oath that made sure that Luz would come back soon and see Amity and everyone else. "Remember to come back and visit if not stay" , Amity said drawing a circle around their hands " But-" ,Luz tried to argue helplessly. " No Luz. No buts or anything. We can't go around breaking oaths. We don't know what would happen" ,Amity responded with a soft smile. The two girls looked each other in that eye as they started to cry. Than Amity gave a tight hug. One that was most certainly not their last, at least not until they were to meet again. .....That was 3 years ago.....
