"Lock out 2002 was a serious problem to our trucking operations, thank god for SynchroMet for saving the day, keeping us moving by
having access to street inventory of containers from other truckers to load on a daily basis.
It was nice to be able to log onto SynchroMet and search for empty containers that our customers can load, it made us hero's for several
new shippers from the valley (almond/walnut exporters) when non member trucking companies could not acquire containers or know how
to and we did with SynchroMet to move containers via rail during the lock out.
We use SynchroMet daily to help us be more efficient and competitive working at the Port of Oakland by offering our empties to
other members and picking up empties that we can use without waiting in long lines.

"My experience with SynchroMet has been very positive, especially during the recent situation at the Port of Oakland.
We were able to "street turn" over 300 units that otherwise would have sat in our yard acquiring demurrage charges. This
has saved us an enormous amount of money. In addition, we are saving "man hours" that are realized any time we must return
an empty container to the port. I estimate we save an average of 2 to 3 hours per container by doing the street turns through
SynchroMet. I believe this can alleviate a lot of the congestion at the terminals. I hope that more steam ship lines will see
the benefit of SynchroMet and become supporters of its use."
