After the rise and fall of Sebastian Shaw, and the disbanding of the team, Hank McCoy is as closed off as everyone else from that experience. He attempts to ignore his own suffering, for the sake of Charles, who has lost everything; his sister, his best friend, and the use of his legs. The presence of Sean and Alex brings little comfort, and they too eventually leave. But slowly, somehow, people have heard of the manor being a safe place, and Hank finds himself yet again surrounded by people, Charles seems to welcome this with open arms; even as Hank reverts back to old ways of becoming a shut in. Not that that lasts long before Charles eventually persuades him to leave the manor, to see the world and what it has now become, no way did Charles ever expect that Hank would end up meeting someone, a girl, while on one of his many forced outings.

Being a performer in some backwater travelling show is a life of hardship, pain and unhappiness. Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr have a task to do, create their own mutant army to stop the one which Sebastian Shaw has already amassed. Only the ideals of such a thing are not as easy to set into motion as they first thought. Throw in disruptive teens, clashing powers, signs of affection and reluctance from some, there might be a small slim chance for success. The ideals and thoughts of what happens after is something which dwells on all who are involved minds. Only peace and quiet can only last so long until it is ripped away.
