A small girl just 1 1/2 years old held on to the side of his robes, just learning to walk. He didn't look or offer support. She would not be given any comfort that things could be easy, learning to rely on herself and what she alone could do. He pulled out his wand, a small arm grabbed at it wanting to unlock the door, not understanding. A field trip with the father she rarely got to see. Reaching for her fathers wand, tiny black sleeves fell to show the mark many were branded with. No one saw how he pushed her hand aside and unlocked the door. she stumbled down the stairs before catching up to her father. They entered the house. Inside James pats Harry's head and kisses his wife before she puts him to bed. They saw him enter. Lilly ran, James stayed wandless to fight. A little girl walked to her father. Who could hear James's thoughts? Who could guess that he would show compassion to the Dark Lord's daughter no one knew existed? Who else was there to care about what she witnessed. We all admire the bravery but who admires the part when he rushed her to the hallway and returned just in time for his death? The little girl spun around the hallway with the pretty green dance lights that flashed. She laughed when her tummy did a roller coaster swoosh as Lily so quickly pulled her to where her son bounced in his crib. Lily could hear the footsteps. She could hear her heart in her throat. She would never get to hear her little boy's first words. She would never get to see him grow up. But the girl. Where was her mother? She whispered to them both, speaking as a mother for one and in place for the other. "Mommy loves you..' "Stand aside," We all know the rest. But directly after a girl comforting a crying boy. She did not cry this wasn't the first time she watched a mother die. But she wouldn't remember this one either.

When they were thirteen he fell in love but didn't say a word. At sixteen his heart grew fonder of the girl that stayed clueless. and at eighteen he had had enough he grabbed up his collage fund and sent her a text to meet at the school and stayed for hours for a girl that never came. He walled home heavy in heart and checked his phone to find a text. The boy runs to the willow tree, his heart ripping from his chest at the sight of his best friend lying on the ground. He falls to the floor and covers her face with his tears. As his tears fall he wipers in her ear " If only, I had told you I loved you, our last breaths could have been together, watching our grand children play in the gentle breeze of the spring and we could have faded together, underneath the willow tree. He kisses her cold forehead and stands up, tears still falling and drops the ring box deep into the roots of the willow tree. With a last tear he leaves swearing to never love again.
