Hiccup . . . Merida . . . Rapunzel . . . Jack . . . All four have one thing in common: they died. When they did, Hiccup and his two new friends Merida and Rapunzel became Guardians in training. The three of them are now learning under each of their Mentor’s wing. But not all of Man in the Moon’s messages made it to the newcomers. Pitch Black, the King of Nightmares, has kept Jack Frost under lock and key inside the Dark Realm. Jack has never seen the Guardians, only heard the lies from Pitch. Pitch is back and not alone this time. He and his accomplice have found a way to turn humans into nightmares. The man in the moon quickly realizes that new guardians are needed in order to win this war. 18-year-old Rapunzel, 17-year-old Merida, and 17-year-old Hiccup become the new guardians. Accompanied by good old Jack Frost they go to fight Pitch Black. The questions are; who's his accomplice? Can you turn back from being an nightmare? Can the four of them get along at all? Last but not least, can they really win this? Four questions, the big four.

When Pitch pulls together a legendary group, the guardians must do the same. As the four positives battle Pitch and his negatives, they meet a mysterious wind spirit. During their search for the ultimate power to destroy the negatives, they learn there is more importance to the wind spirit then even she knows. HiccupxOC and slight Jackunzel. After the ordeal with Pitch, Jack learns that 3 other spirits exist, one that was killed in a heroic sacrifice, another was killed on accident, and the last was killed by a madman. Their names are Hiccup, Rapunzel, and Merida. These 3 individuals had their own issues to deal with. And it's up to Jack to teach them, or at least try to. Meanwhile, Pitch Black has some plans of his own, and they aren't looking good for the new four. Elsa, Hiccup, Merida, and Rapunzel are recruited to join the Guardians and team up with Jack Frost to become the Big Five. The Guardians are a group of unique people, and creatures, that help protect the children of the world. Follow The Big Five on their journey to many different lands as they fight to end Pitch Black once and for all. Alright so I know it sounds just like any other "big five" story you have ever read...but I promise it is so much more than that. Jack is a guardian, Elsa can control her powers, Merida and her mother have healed their bond, Rapunzel has healing hair and hasn't met Eugene (yet), and Hiccup isn't gorgeous (yet). Cold. Lonely. Forgotten. Rapunzel has no recollection of anything when she wakes up in new surroundings. Not even who she is. Being thrust into the middle on an on-going war between the Guardians and Pitch, Rapunzel slowly begins to discover pieces of her broken memory, but what she finds will put everyone she loves at risk...even Jack.

Jack, Hiccup, Rapunzel, and Merida must all come together to help defeat a reoccurring nightmare, but when one of them turns to evil what will they do?

Pitch and Hans have teamed up to capture Jack and Elsa. Merida, Rapunzel, and Hiccup get dragged into it when the bad guys accidentally stumble into Merida's world and take Merida and Hiccup, and accidentally make a portal to Rapunzel. But the more the merrier! The five are taken to The Chamber of Dreams, an invention of Pitch's. It has various isolation rooms where Pitch's black sand creates things and dampens their powers, crumbling their resolve and spirit. They are put through they're worst nightmares, find each other, and have to put aside their differences and work together to escape.
