She's never left her town, but Dad says smallness in surroundings helps the mind grow. She only has one friend, but Dad says that friends stall development through distractions. She has a rare form of cancer for which she takes medicine for every day. Dad says it keeps the cancer's growth at bay. When Emma meets her friend's boyfriend, his mysterious healing capabilities lead to the discovery that she's not sick... What else has her dad lied to her about? By this, Danny had given up everything and wishes to die. Only to be saved by someone unexpected. Or not... Now time is running as Danny must find a way to get rid of the curse before it's too late. This is a Danny Phantom fanfiction, one that isn't exactly a true continuation of the TV show (more details in the prologue) The title has more than one meaning, as you will find out as you read. This is my first story back from the cleansing of my stories, so it might take me a while to get back into the flow. Before, I had wrote, or tried to write, stories based on romance, but this one will be just my view of how the story could've been. One day while down in the lab Clockwork and some Observants come out of the Ghost Portal telling Danny he is the new King of the Ghost Zone (but currently Prince until he comes of age). Danny tries to adapt to being a Prince but finds his new responsibilities scary and stressful. But that is not all the newly appointed Prince has to worry about, for something sinister is lurking in the shadows. Will Danny be able to prevent himself from abusing his new power? *NOTE* This story is not a complete re-write. Humans don't understand how someone can be both dead and alive, and that fact scares them, it opens up the possibility of a threat even if there is no evidence of malevolent intent.
