Freshly reunited together, Jay Halstead and Erin Lindsay are ready to rekindle everything about why they have missed each over over the last several years - from the working relationship, to the great romantic sessions that happened back at the apartment. This is a story about the love together, and how the cases they work - or maybe just a particular case - affects the relationship they share together. This is third installment of "Racing Through Chicago," following "An Unfortunate Mix-Up" and "Murder She Wrote." It is not necessary to read the previous two stories to understand how we got here, but some of the things that happened may be discussed here. This story is also being written on the same timeline as "Chicago Love," as well in the series.

This story will be about detective Jay Halstead and detective Erin Lindsay from NBC Chicago PD. This story is about their everyday lives being hero's stopping the criminals of Chicago in the intelligence unit of the 21st district. This story will show the challenges that Linstead must go through everyday at work but also in their personal lives to get to where they want to be. These are not my characters and I do read alot of Linstead fan fiction so if something seams similar to your story I am sorry I am not copying, these are just the ideas that get stuck in my mind. Since we don't know much about his past, I'm writing this as I imagine it. Jay has moments with Mouse, shares things with Erin he hasn't before, and he has time with Will sharing memories and such.

It's been a year since Erin left Chicago. Jay is on the verge of moving in with his new girlfriend when a case sends him to New York. Should he track Erin down and finally get the closure he never had so he can move on once and for all? Or will seeing her again turn his life upside down?

This Linstead story picks up after 301. Erin is struggling to come to terms with the events of the last few months. Can she move forward and build a life without Nadia? Can Jay open up about his own past and show Erin what real love looks like? This is a multi chapter story. (I do not own Chicago PD or any of its characters)
