Betty moved to Riverdale in Sophomore year because of her abusive dad and drunken mom. Polly and Charles are twins and Polly already was living in Riverdale with her twins Juniper and Dagwood. Jason (he is alive in this) was staying with Polly also. When Betty got to Southside High she was hard as nails but the bad boy caught her eye Jughead Jones. He was her mentor buddy until Southside high got shut down and everyone moved to Riverdale High where she met Veronica and Archie and her Cousin Cheryl. Veronica and Betty became close as friends but she still was crushing on Jughead until he approached Betty in her room and kissed her. They decided to met each other's families after two months of dating. Her dad didn't support it so he kept on abusing Betty while Alice sat there watching it happen. The few months after Betty is diagnosed with cancer in her lungs. She never told Jughead and he saw her in hospital the next day and cried just by seeing her in pain.

"Someone! P-Please! Help, I'm in labor-ah!" Betty Smith barges into a bar, owned by the south side serpents. She's 19 and in labor, she needs help, and who comes to her aid...Jughead Jones. Jughead takes Betty to the hospital and helps her through the birth of her daughter, Harper. Then, after she's born, Jughead offers to help Betty get back on her feet, she accepts, but little did she know that accepting would cause her great happiness and also great heartache. But as she always says, do what you gotta do, but do those rules apply when she has to keep a big secret from the man she loves?

When Southside High closes, it forces the serpents to the notorious Northside Riverdale High. Cheryl Blossom, the schools HBIC, and Toni Topaz, serpent princess, instantly hate each other due to their social differences. Cheryl being from the Northside thought she was the greatest thing to bless the planet, while Toni from the Southside, fought everyday of her life to become the strong serpent she was proud to be. The two go to great measures to make each other lives a living hell, until Toni unknowingly needs Cheryl's help, leaving the redhead stuck with no choice. Feelings may start to change but can each put aside the fact they are supposed to hate each other. This is the Thin Line.

At first he just seems like your classic cliche bad boy with his leather jacket and combat boots and she gives him some attitude for his over confident attitude until she sees the back of his jacket with the signature snake on it that hes a southside serpent but not just any southside serpent the leader of the southside serpents, Jughead Jones. Betty didn't expect Jughead Jones to take such an interest in a girl as mundane as her and as much as she tries to avoid him he seems to be everywhere she is. When a life changing event happens she finds herself thrown right into the middle of his world she finds him much harder to avoid and to deny her attraction to the original bad boy of Riverdale. Jughead Jones is instantly attracted to the little preppy blonde girl as soon as he meets her with her attitude and fearlessness, he couldn't help but to be intrigued.
