Three years after the events of Red Queen, tensions are still stirring in Norta. Newblood Lydia Cross, a conspiracy theorist and reporter just wanted to get though her life, until King Maven forced her into service as his personal reporter, spreading his lies. All Lydia wanted was to survive, but the mysterious, black hearted king draws her in. As she discovers his secrets, Lydia finds herself trapped in the middle of a battle she never wanted to be apart of. After Mare, all Maven wants is to put the past behind him and enact his plans for Norta. But when he crosses paths with Lydia Cross, a newblood with an intriguing power, he finds himself again fighting his emotions. But will this new love prove to be a powerful and equally black hearted ally? This is a Red Queen fan fiction featuring some original characters. Other than all OCs all characters are credited to Victoria Aveyard. Some cussing including f words, some mildly sexual content and violence.

He tortures her with words and by other means. She doesn't know how long she has been there, but she does know that Cal isn't coming to rescue her. She has given up all hope. Cal is desperately trying to get Mare back. He lost his father, his mother, and his brother, but he refuses to lose Mare. He is trying to come up with a plan to free her, but everything is too risky. But Cal will not just leave Mare to die. Kilorn wants to get Mare back. He needs to get Mare back. He can't survive without her. He is now taking care of her family and working with Cal and her brothers to get her back. Farley is left heartbroken. Her love was murdered and she didn't even get to say goodbye. He left her something, though. He left her with a child. Will Cal save Mare? Will Maven kill her? Or will she fall back in love with him before she is rescued? What will happen to Kilorn? What if Evangeline didn't set Mare free? So, essentially it's kind of a what would have happened type of Fanfic. There are going to be a couple of inconsistencies in the story, but just roll with it please! I'm also going to try to make it as perfect (grammar wise) as possible.
