Wanted to write a story taking place during the Clone Wars, before Revenge of the Sith. Soon a book Queen's Hope will be coming out and taking place then so I thought I'd take a try at it. Lots of the background info on the handmaidens is from Queen's Peril and Queen's Shadow. I advise you read them before this story. Padmé is my favorite Star Wars character so it's focused on her. Will include information referenced from the canon Padmé books, the movies and Clone Wars TV show. Considering this story PG13 at least, has some heavy themes and info not for kids. I also tend to write more dialogue then description due to my ADD so you have been warned. Creepy fun fact, I wrote this at the beginning of 2021. Once I already published this story the cover for Queen's Hope came out. They chose the same photo as me. I'm shook. Doubt many other details will align but this makes me so happy.

It was said before...dark times approach as the sun and the moon go by, and it was true. Everyone that could, as well as everyone that couldn't, were able to feel it somehow. That darkness felt like a knot in the throat, a tickle in the pit of the stomach, a shiver in the bones...and it felt closer. The Clone Wars continued to escalate and they seemed to have no end, our heroes grew tired everyday and wondered if this could be called "a life" anymore; their happiness seemed to last merely seconds, specially since the team no longer is what it once was. However, not everything is sadness, not everything is sorrow. There's also love, there's also happiness, and most importantly, there's hope. Hope that everything will get better, hope that there could be a bright future for the Galaxy and it's inhabitants. The questions that remained were if this light could defeat the darkness, if good could overcome evil, if people could remain happy, if love was really the strongest power, if angels could turn into demons and if those angels could defeat demons or if demons could turn back into angels. There's only one way to find out, by travelling through the second part of this story. We'll watch the Battle of the Heroes, we'll listen to the Duel of the Fates and we'll see if there's a New Hope. We'll see if good prevails or if it is defeated by the shadows once and for all. When Anakin Skywalker arrives on Naboo with Senator Amidala as her Jedi Protector, everything in his life changes. His mother, the closest person to him in his life dies at a Tusken Raider camp far off on Tatooine after being kept by them and tortured. It destroys him. What else destroys him is the fact that he is not allowed to be attached to Padmé by the rules of the Jedi Order. In this plot twist of the Attack of the Clones, will Anakin be able to cope with all that he has lost? Or will he be willing to rebel? A Chosen One shall come, born of no father, and through him will ultimate balance in the Force be restored. Throughout the galaxy, many had heard the prophecy of the Chosen One. Since the discovery of Anakin Skywalker, a majority of the Jedi Order were convinced they'd found the one who'd bring balance to the Force. Instead, Anakin Skywalker caused the downfall of the Jedi and the rise of power for the Dark Side. With Darth Vader the Dark Side grew strong yet in the end, he killed the Emperor, not only redeeming himself but also finally restoring balance to the Force as the prophecy had foretold. When the attempts on the Senator's life increase, an investigation led by Master Kenobi starts to uncover the truth and find out who's behind these attacks. With a well formulated plan, Anakin and Allana are sent to Naboo, here feelings will surge between them. The question is: will they choose the Code or love? Love and war, poison and wine. Feelings to the surface that get stronger as time passes by.
