Shuichi finishes collage at the early age of nineteen. He had always been a genius, so he went to collage for psychology and mental instability. When he gets his job at the asylum he meets a patient named Kokichi Oma. The insane boy is seventeen, but he doesn't seem crazy, at least at first. After Kaede confessing her feelings for Shuichi, he managed to mess up letting her down gently & told her he had a boyfriend. He ended up asking Kokichi Ouma, who is already madly crushing on Shuichi, to pretend to be his boyfriend.
