You had known Edward and Alphonse throughout your childhood. But will the hardships of being a State Alchemist tear the two of you apart? The title of Shadow Alchemist has proven to be more than you thought, and a bit difficult despite your skills in alchemy. With the dark secrets of bloodshed and betrayal in your past starting to be uncovered, how will Alphonse be able to look at you the same? Edward has begun to ice you out, and wants you nowhere near his brother. So how will you deal with your feelings if you aren't even allowed to see him?

This is my first ever fan fiction story, so please no hate. This is an Edward x Reader story. You've been friends with Edward and Alphonse Elric for as long as you can remember. But, at age ten your parents make you move away. Soon after they are involved in a car "accident". Then you are taken in by your cruel grandfather who wants to train you to be an assassin. I hope you like it! p.s. the title might not go very good with the story. I had a hard time finding a good title.

F/N Hughes is the younger sister to Maes Hughes and became a state alchemist at the age of 15. At the time, she thought she was the youngest State Alchemist and had previously attempted human transmutation when she was 12, allowing her to use alchemy with no circle but at the sacrifice of both of her legs which are now automail. What will happen when she meets Edward Elric who took the test when he was 12 and she finds out he and his brother Alphonse also attempted human transmutation and are trying to get their bodies back. While F/N does not seek the return of her legs, actually preferring the automail replacements, she can't help but be curious about both of the brothers, but especially Edward, even if at first they clash more than getting along. (I am following Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood for this story!)
