In a small quiet town in rural Ohio, Joshua Dun was only 8 years old when he met Tyler Joseph who was also of 8 years old. Together they grew up inseparable from each other and learned to deal with obstacles along the way. However, once all grown up, Josh discovers that his family has kept some big secrets from him and Tyler's bad side is up to no good with dangerous plans in store. As Josh becomes a bigger and more devoted fan over the years, Tyler becomes a bigger, more popular, more successful artist. While Josh loved Tyler's success, he secretly wished Tyler didn't become more and more distant from fans, and much harder to reach. Tyler was sad. He was hurt, confused, angry, and scared, too, but most of all, he was sad. He didn't know if it was because he had been stuck in the same town for his entire life or it it was something a bit more serious, but that little uncertainty didn't stop him from applying to colleges all throughout the country and going to the one the furthest away from where he grew up. It wasn't the best choice he had made in his life, but suddenly there's this kid that shows up who dyes his hair a different color almost every month, and maybe, just maybe, he's the cure to Tyler's, well, whatever it is.
