Through the darkness, the computer screen illuminated the pale skin of Adelae's face around the black mask. Scrolling through the submitted questions, she came across one that made her smile.

"Dear Lady Shade," She read aloud to herself. "Why did you choose to be a villain instead of a hero?" She chuckled, shaking her head at the simple, loaded question, before selecting it and opening the page to write a reply.

"Hello Blogger KittyStan41. I bet you're expecting the classic tragic backstory in response to this question." she typed. " Dead parents, treated like trash as a kid, and it all came to a choice between rising to defeat my inner demons or succumbing to them. Well, my real answer is possibly something you haven't considered about the world of Heroes and Villains. Answer this for me, what is the goal of a hero? To make the world a better place, perhaps? No, dear KittyStan41. The classic goals of the Hero might seem epic and noble, but in the end it all comes down to stopping the Villain. What kind of life is that, when your only goals derive from the actions of someone else? Your whole life is used up as a preventative measure. Now does that sound like a good way to live?

"I chose to be a villain not because I enjoy hurting people, but because I have goals that I plan to achieve. Don't bother asking what they are. If I told you, everyone would know, and people (baby heroes) would get in the way. Then how would I achieve them? I aspire to more. Is there need for a better reason?"

"Stop pretending to be an idiot, idiot." Ouch. It burns. "You're starting to sound like a dear old friend of mine," she adds, her tone implying that her "friend" isn't so much of a "friend" as a mortal enemy who she probably also dragged into an alley on multiple occasions. Because she must be a fan of alley-dragging. Theater major. "I bet that friend was super amazing," I retort anyway. "She'd have to be to put up with you." Oh! Snap! I grin like an idiot at my own joke, realize how uncool that is, and then quickly rearrange my face into a frown. "I'm sorry. I don't quite understand. You're supposed to be a superhero, so why are you threatening a fellow superhero? Isn't that kind of against our code or whatever?" "You don't have a code. Superheroes who follow codes don't drop off information about people's allegedly dead sons at their doorsteps and then run." Well, can't say she doesn't have a point there. -- After being framed for the horrific murder of Birchwood City's most revered superhero's six year-old son, Maya Waterman abandons her super-villain persona and finds herself lost without any sense of identity and purpose. Being hunted by a vengeful super is hard enough, but after her employer fires her and she's evicted from her apartment, Maya begins to become something she had prayed she would never become again- helpless. She needs nothing less than a miracle to save herself, and much to her surprise, she gets just that-- even if it entails her trying her hand at becoming a good guy for once.

"I don't care if you do proms or not. I'm not missing my last high school prom. You're going to prom with me and that's a period," I said in a final tone. "Nope. Still not going," He said with a smirk on his face, looking the least fazed by my ranting. I sighed, annoyed. "I hate you and I'm never talking to you again!!!" "Talk about weirdest ask out ever." Theo muttered jokingly and Kim laughed while I narrowed my eyes at them. I couldn't blame them. My situation was pathetic. "You can't be serious," Lyrik said, putting his phone into the pocket of his jeans. "Wait here. We'll be right back." Kim said as she and Theo went back to the store to finish their shopping, leaving Lyrik and I in the parking lot. "Doce." I didn't reply him, just got my phone out and started doing random things. "Come on. This is uncalled for." No reply. "Assassins don't go to prom," He said such that only I could hear since he just stated his secret Job, still trying to justify himself and i resisted the urge to roll my eyes at him. There's literally no such law. Anyone can go to prom if they want to. I heard him sigh loudly. "Fine I'll go with you, okay?" He said, pouting. Next thing I knew, I was grinning widely as i tucked my phone away. I know it was the last thing to expect from someone like Lyrik, but I guess silent treatment was his weakness. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!" I squealed and hugged him tightly. "Yeah, whatever," He said when I let go of him, then muttered under his breath, "Even I can't understand why I do the things I do for you." *~* Aneeqa D' elvano is left alone for the whole summer due to her mom's kind of job. She just wants to spend time with her friends and stay away from trouble...Except she signs up for trouble when she gets herself kidnapped by a goddamn hot assassin.

You slowly turned over the body of the man that attacked you, the man you killed "Oh..... Oh no" The face paint gave him away, as you looked into the now dead eyes of the man. That classic maniacal grin spread across his features even in death. You just killed the Joker. Now with almost every hero and villain you know gunning for you, either for their form of "protection" or to just kill you, only one thought crossed your mind. "Well Fu"- *Currently being re-edited since the beginning of this book has some spelling mistakes I have over 1k reads, am I famous now? Can I like, be a jerk and get away with it? Look at all these PEASANTS, THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW A KING IS AMONG THEM-...I need some time to calm down this happy feeling in my chest. Btw, I don't own any art in the story. If the owner of any pictures in this story want me to, I will take those pictures out and replace them. Thank you. You're just a little birdie, minding your own business-flying around, dodging falling leaves, trying not to get too involved in the messes of the city below. But, oh, the drama! The masked hero and the brooding villain you've been watching for months-yeah, those two? They have a lot of secrets. The hero's perfect, obviously, saving the world and all that. But the villain? Oh, dear. By day, they wear a mask of evil and power, but you've seen what happens when the cape comes off. There's some serious darkness lurking in their private life-self-loathing, quiet pain, and way too many late-night mood swings. But don't worry, the villain's got it under control... or so they think. You thought their love story was one of those sweet "enemies-to-lovers" kind of deals, until you saw the truth from way up here. It's a mess. Betrayal. Anger. Love. Secret identities. A fight that's way more personal than you ever imagined. But hey, that's not your problem, right? You're just a bird. Except, well... Maybe you care. Maybe you're the one who's been flying around, wondering if their messy, secret love story will ever have a happy ending-or if one of them will end up on the wrong side of the city's skyscraper (literally). From your vantage point, it's a little too close for comfort, but hey-no one ever said love was easy, even for villains and heroes. Just try not to get caught in the crossfire, okay?
