Once they arrived, Caroline reminded Katherine of her dire situation: she was dying, and if she didn't receive help soon, she wouldn't survive much longer. After 5 years stuck in a wall, Klaus is finally rescued and by no one other than Caroline Forbes. After Caroline helps him getting out of New Orleans she tells him how he was 5 years in that wall, how Haley has been doing everything in her power to get the Originals back and how along the way she became good friends with Haley and his daughter and also how Hope is best friends with her daughters. In here Caroline didn't got back with Stefan. Nothing happened to Enzo nor Damon. Caroline didn't married Alaric but they continued to live in Dallas trying to live as normal as they could. This story won't follow what happened in the TVD/TO universe.

When Caroline kidnapped Katherine and brought her down to New Orleans, it had been solely with the intention of getting her and Elijah back together. Even enemies deserve a happy ending. But then Katherine's dying, the Mikaelsons are waging war, and it looks like she'll be in the city for much longer than she had planned. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing.
