F/N Hughes is the younger sister to Maes Hughes and became a state alchemist at the age of 15. At the time, she thought she was the youngest State Alchemist and had previously attempted human transmutation when she was 12, allowing her to use alchemy with no circle but at the sacrifice of both of her legs which are now automail. What will happen when she meets Edward Elric who took the test when he was 12 and she finds out he and his brother Alphonse also attempted human transmutation and are trying to get their bodies back. While F/N does not seek the return of her legs, actually preferring the automail replacements, she can't help but be curious about both of the brothers, but especially Edward, even if at first they clash more than getting along. Anywho, I've had this idea for a longer Alphonse x Reader story, and I can't get this idea out of my head. This is loosely based on Beauty and the Beast, except Edward is Beast, Winry is Belle, and you're just like "I AINT LEAVING WITHOUT WINRY!" And of course Alphonse is his usual adorable armored self. You need it to heal your ill and bedridden father. You agree to help Edward and Alphonse find it. As you guys travel together you all begin to grow close. Especially you and Edward.

At 11 years old, she surpassed Edward Elric in becoming the youngest State Alchemist in Amestris and the only female Alchemist currently enrolled in the Military. One day, two alchemists, Edward and Alphonse Elric, had something stolen from them, which lead to them helping (Y/N) to put her life back together. As she grows onto them, she develops feelings for Alphonse. They pursue their adventures as alchemists trying to help the needy and fighting off homunculi, becoming State Alchemists, and finding hope in others.
