Hermione finds herself out of place after the war. Really out of place. ~The students of Hogwarts have returned for their Seventh Year that they were unable to attend, a year prior. Ron and Harry, getting ready to finish their Seventh Year and become Aurors, like they planned. After Hermione turns down Ron, for feeling wrong about being with him, she feels alone. Scared. Out of sorts. But she isn't the only one. Draco Malfoy sits at the other end of the Great Hall, by himself, surrounded by the other Slytherins, all avoiding him except for Theo Nott, Blaise Zabini, and Pansy Parkinson. The other death eaters. But Malfoy doesn't seem to notice, too busy staring into nothingness, with grief. Hermione cannot help but stare at the poor boy who everyone hates. Who she hates. But she doesn't feel that way when she's looking at him. All of a sudden she realizes his composure has broken, staring back at her.~ Will she invite in the enemy of her childhood? Will she see past it, as he is the only one who understands the pain she's enduring?

Draco and the rest of the 7th year students at Hogwarts have come back to make up the year that was rudely interupted. The 8th year at Hogwarts for the older students would be very different, but maybe new friendships would grow...maybe even new love interests? What happens to everyone when there's no more picking sides? Will Draco be able to function in the shadow of his Father's past? Sirius Black, Goyle, Remus Lupin, and Severus Snape are alive and well. When Hermione finds her self coming back to Hogwarts for a Manditory 8th year, she is put in a place she shouldn't be. A place too close to Draco Malfoy a place were it should be impossible for her to stand and Draco is determined to find out why and how. We, The Ministry have decided that all people who were in attendance of they're seventh year at Hogwarts during the war is required to return back to Hogwarts for a mandatory 8th year. The Wizarding War is over, and Voldemort is gone. The golden trio decides to go back to Hogwarts to retake their 7th year, their last year, but they aren't the only ones. What will happen when Hermione is named head girl, and finds out that head boy will be none other than Draco Malfoy? Will they keep hating each other through out the year? Draco discovers Harry was the one who convinced the minister that Draco had done nothing wrong, and to let him come back for his 8th year. After that night it became more than a friendship. They both have sad pasts and are trying work together but what happens when someone finds out Harrys secret and doesn't know what to do? After the war, the students come back to Hogwarts for an 8th year to catch up for everything they have missed, giving the opportunity for an unexpected couple to form... Important detail: there's no smut in this fanfic and will never be. The maximum there can be is kissing.
