This book is about how to overcome, more like learn to live with and co-exist with, depression and self-doubt. And how people around you may act a certain way but could be far from what is really happening with them. In other words, anyone around you can smile and laugh all they want but once they are by themselves... they break completely.

This book touches on sensitive topics that have scarred and hurt people of all colors, ethnicities, nationalities, sexualities and genders. There are mentions of hate crimes, racism, manipulation, depression, self harm, suicide, and sexual and mental abuse. If you have experienced any of these things, my heart goes out to you.

Each of these characters has their own things they deal with behind closed doors... each of them a part of myself. A book that is coming from a fellow Eccedentesiast.

Eccedentesiast; (noun) someone who hides pain behind a smile. "She didn't like showing the pain, she was an eccedentesiast."

No, I don't think I do. 'Do I have anyone who cares about me?' No, I'm a loner and socially awkward. 'Do I have privileges?' No, if you haven't understood the message yet, I live in an abusive household. Now, you might ask if there are any questions the answer is yes. I'll give you some. 'Do I want to die?' Yes, I sometimes do. 'Do I feel alone in this world?' Yes, always. 'Do I get a beating every day?' Yes. *** This is Amara Williams, a 13 year-old with average grades and no friends.
