He didn't want to leave Sucrose but he had no choice... not even getting the chance to say a proper goodbye. He left Mondstadt and Sucrose behind for nearly 2 years. Sucrose didn't see him under the tree anymore, nor in the kingdom; thinking he was taking his time off but it seems like he was - literally.
