Maura Leighton has a dark secret from her home city that she is running away from. She moved to a small town in hopes no one would recognise her there, that she could put the past behind her.
Maura only wants to get through the rest of the school year without complications, but when you are the new kid at school, everyone has their eye on you, figuring you out.
Adrien Rayne suffered through the worst school break imaginable, once he returned home he is hoping to be able to quietly put it in the back of his mind and carry on with school, though that turns out harder than he thought when he discovers the girl who turned his break into hell had moved to his school.
And he knew her dark secret.

Maura and Adrien spend the last half of their senior school year battling darkness from both their present and past. What makes it difficult is when they merge into one.
It becomes even harder when the two have an undoubted sexual connection that they can't ignore no matter how hard they try, even when they know how wrong they are for each other.

Suddenly there was a large tug on the back of my head, someone had yanked my ponytail. I spun around as much as I could, their grip was strong on my hair.

I saw my brown hair in a tight grip, I trailed my eyes up a male's tattooed arm towards a pair of dark grey eyes, his eyelids were red and puffy, as if he had been crying, or he was high.

His face was set in a glare, his dark hair, messy, as if all he had done to get ready was shake his head around. It was the guy, Adrien, who was separated from Riley's group.

He was tall. I was average height, maybe even slightly above average but Adrien towered over me, I had to look up at him.

"What fucking right do you have to come to his school." Adrien snarled.

He knew. I didn't know him though.

I blushed at that and I wanted to look away but one of his hands stopped me and turned my face towards him. "Get used to hearing compliments because you're going to hear them often in the future. Now, about my offer..." He gave me an expectant look. I thought for a while. I still wasn't sure it was a good idea but I liked working at the shop and still wanted to work there for a little while. However, I was a kid when I wrote this so take it with a grain of salt. *** Like a deer in head lights, I freeze and watch as the car comes towards me expecting to get hit. But to my surprise, the car swerves to the side slightly next to me and comes to a stop. I take a deep breath I didn't know I was holding at the driver's side door swings open and a very pissed off Axel steps out. "Thank god," I mumble and place my hands on my knees to catch my breath. "Blaze?" He says and I hate it. I hate how he says my name as if it's his. Like he knows it's the only thing I want to hear, him calling out to me, looking at me, focused to me. It's the first time in my life I wanted someone's attention so badly I didn't care how I got it. And that was too dangerous for me to hold onto. "Are you insane or some shit? I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. "Don't run from me Blaze it won't go well," he growls reading my thoughts causing me to freeze in my spot. "Do not ever think you can get away from me."

"I wouldn't mind watching you. Maybe we could tan together this summer." He suggested. "Without having tan lines." I could feel the smirk playing on his lips. I lightly slapped his chest. "Don't ruin my mood with your cockiness." "I think I made it a lot better." "Well, keep going and you'll have to deal with your boner yourself." I teased. "Why does it always come back to my boner?" He asked with a smile playing on his lips. "Because it's just so huge." I said absentmindedly. "Is it now?" He raised a brow at me. I stripped myself away from him and pouted as I folded my arms across my chest. "That's not what I was supposed to say." "Hmm," He nodded. "What were you supposed to say then?" "That it's just as annoying as you." I laughed. SUMMARY: After the death of her father, Blake moves in with her estranged mother and twin sister.
