Optimus was a very lonely mech as he had been betrayed by his ex girlfriend; Elita one and since then he shut his emotions away and he only allowed his closest friends in. Despite his newfound independence, Optimus still felt an emptiness in his spark. He had been hurt deeply and he was unable to trust anyone with his emotions. He had learned to rely only on himself and to never let his guard down. In order to protect himself, Optimus had built a wall around his heart, so he could never be hurt again. They met and became close to each other and something blooms within the two of them. As they got to know each other better, their friendship grew deeper. They opened up to each other and confided in each other about their lives and their dreams. Slowly, a strong connection began to form between them and they started to feel a special bond they had never felt before. Will they fall in love? Read on to find out.

As the two of them work together, they both face their weaknesses and the many trials thrown at them by an interdimensional threat and some domestic ones. Optimus has a harsh life as the bearer of the matrix and Temptest struggles to be the symbol of freedom she once was. Alongside them, one Megatron works to protect his adopted family while the other tags along, fighting and testing them in hopes he'll find what he lost in his own dimension. The bots imagine that a terrible villain is on the prowl, but struggle to figure out who.
