Selene 'Siren' Mitchell was the daughter of Pete Mitchell and Charlotte Blackwood. She came as a surprise to the two, but quickly after the parents decided to try and make it work. The couple moved to Washington for Charlotte's job, but Pete often left because he was deployed. Growing up the family was a happy one. Although Selene missed her father when he was gone, she was always happy when he came home.

All was well until Charlotte passed when Selene was 14. Overcome by grief Pete Mitchell threw himself into his work. The already little time he was at home became almost nonexistent. Selene, feeling abandoned, raises herself. She grows to despise her father for leaving her.

After she enlists in the Navy on her 18th birthday, the father and daughter don't speak. She's always known she wanted to be a fighter pilot. When she was young it was because she looked up to her father and wanted to be just like him. Now she was determined to do it to spite him, to be better than him.

Now at 23 she has been asked to go to Top Gun.
While she's there she forms an intense rivalry with Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw. The two pilots find themselves constantly at each others throats, unable to stay away.

*Part 1 starts when Rooster is in Top Gun for the first time*
*Part 2 takes place during Top Gun: Maverick*
*Part 3 is life after*

C H A N C E: do (something) despite its being dangerous or of uncertain outcome "You walked out on me! No text, call, or letter! Nothing! I just woke up one day and you were gone!" Rooster yelled at her. She stood there in pain from just seeing him, Rosemary couldn't look at him without seeing her mistakes. "I didn't mean to hurt you... I-I just couldn't say goodbye because if I did I never would have left. I have 3 children now because of my sister's death. I wasn't going to drag you along with that. You were already set back so much from Maverick and the hatred you had towards him, was something I didn't want. If I held you back then you would have hated me too," a few tears rolled down her face as she looked at his shoes. She couldn't bare to look up at him. He shook his head as he exhaled out trying to calm down. "But I would have never hated you. I can't hate you. It bothers me that I haven't been able to hate you for walking out on me... and then you have to hide with all the pain... I just wished you told me," he told her and took a step closer. She had looked up at him and her heart shattered even more. The whole group was there watching there fight but didn't even have words for any of it. Phoenix was the only one who knew about everything. The kids, her sister, her parents, all of it. Pheonix had watched her break down over and over and over, but she didn't realize how much it might have hurt her to see the one person she had loved her whole life. "I'm sorry, Bradley but I have to go," she turned around and passed the whole group. She didn't bare to change in the lockers but headed straight to her car.
