**this is a sequel to Birds of a Feather** Following the acts of Birds of a Feather, we find ourselves amidst the story of SHIELD after their fall. Phil Coulson has become the new Director of SHIELD and is working on assembling those still loyal to the cause and keeping them safe. Its definitely hard work when the government thinks you no longer exist and have confiscated half of your supplies. Agent Monroe has quickly become known by those still with SHIELD as "The Renegade," and more often than not, is sent on solo missions. She has cut herself off from her old teammates in fear of hurting them, something they haven't quite come to understand. And what is this strange writing Coulson has Skye looking into?

Skye has just moved in with Phil and Melinda and is going to a new school. Skye is their new foster child and has a bit of sass. She is a junior at the academy. When she meets Grant Ward what will happen? Will her parents let her see him? Stick with them through anger and jealousy to see what happens. I suck at summaries so please give it a chance!

The moment Skye kisses Ward, she knows she's screwed - figuratively at the very least. Because if she's close enough to literally have his lips on hers she should be trying to bring him in, or kill him. Instead, she's letting him crowd her up against the dresser in this dingy motel room, thanking all the powers that be that she turned her comm off. Skye's feelings about Ward are complicated. Ward's feelings for Skye are very simple. Immovable object meet unstoppable force. Set somewhere in the first half of Season Two.

When SHIELD show's up in her and Skye's lives, she finds herself peering over her shoulder a lot more, unable to trust anyone, keeping secrets about her life that could lead to her breaking the teams trust. Secrets are dangerous in SHIELD, especially since you never know a spy's true intentions. You never know what people are willing to use against you. You never know who is a friend and who is an enemy. Is Grant Ward the one person that she could find herself being able to trust? To open herself up to? Maybe it's better to be as cold as ice.
