What happens when Marinette gets akumitized because of Lila Rossi, she uses her memories of Adrien Agreste and her time as Ladybug and Chat Noir to overcome Shadow Moth's influence then she gets invited to a ball at Gabriel Agreste, the famous fashion designer's mansion. She ends up talking with and dancing with Adrien Agreste, her longtime crush. They hit it off and become closer. Ladybug finally realizes that she is falling head over heels for Chat Noir. So she prepares a scavenger hunt for him and sends Chat Noir on a quest to find out her identity. His reward is going on a date with Ladybug in her civilian form.

Marinette had gotten over her feelings for Adrien since she realized that it would never lead to anything. She was just too shy, and getting over her crush would get rid of the awkward tension in her head. And Gabriel is locked up in jail but the only ones who know why are the police, Ladybug aka Marinette, and Chat Noir aka Adrien.
