Taken by the Saviors alongside Daryl, Reader makes a promise to get them out of there, no matter the cost. She promises herself that she's killing Negan on the way out too.
When Negan offers Daryl a position as a Savior and Daryl refuses, she volunteers to take his place. Being that close to the inner circle of the Sanctuary isn't an opportunity she can pass up. Negan agrees, believing that having the golden girl of Alexandria fighting with him is exactly what they need to realize who's in charge now.
He drags her around, his personal soldier. Every visit to Alexandria, pick-up, and punishment. He'll never see her as more than a pawn, something he stole from Rick She's useless to Alexandria from here, only ever a few paces behind him, waiting for his next order.
She hates it, sick with the guilt of pointing a gun at her friends and family. She wants nothing more than to turn her weapon on Negan, take Daryl, and run but she hasn't seen him in days. Isn't even sure he's still alive or in the Sanctuary, can only hope he's escaped.
So she bides her time and waits. Then she sees it, a tiny chink in the armor he'd so carefully created. It's in his posture as he walks through the Sanctuary, in the tone he uses when speaking to his wives, and grin on his face when they fall into him. It's in his eyes when she says the word family.
Negan is lonely. He has nothing but the community he's built off the backs of others. He's alone. She decides she'll become the one thing he thinks he has. She'll get close and she'll take him down, from the inside.
Her plan comes to a halt when she feels it, that tiny flicker of empathy that sends her pushing him back to arm's length. The last thing she needs is to let him get too close and compromise her mission. But the feeling was persistent, wriggling its way into their every interaction and then she realized, she cared about him.
And caring about the monster, Negan Smith? That was a fate worse than death.

The Walking Dead - The Nurse by KaileyRose039

TWD, seasons 1-8 currently published. Dark Romance - Slow Burn. Starts off with her falling for Rick possibly ends with her and Daryl. I like me some drama so hehe. - 鉂滻 remembered how it all started. How the world went from civilized with jobs, normal people, conversations. Without the fear of being consumed alive by undead man. Torn apart, left to turn into one of them. I remember the time before I met Rick, Daryl, Glenn, Maggie, all of them. The time before I feared for my sanity. I remember that day at the hospital when a man was rolled in unconscious and injured, my fifth GSW case that month alone. I remember all those cases before him for the past month, the fevers of 110, the quick unstoppable deaths. The bites. I remember the first time I smelled burning flesh and gunpowder. How it coiled around my lungs and burned my nose as I inhaled. The mangled body of my intern littered with bullet holes. I remember the time before the war, I remember when I could go home and sleep without fear of being bitten the next day. I remember the day I had a son, blood or not, and I remember the day he was murdered in front of my eyes. I remember it all. I remember too much. Why were we the ones who live? Why not Glenn? Why not Carl? Henry, or Enid? Any of the other many people we lost for the sake of what, humanity? I had a son once, I had a family. And where are they? 鉂 - follow Avery Warren's journey from ER Nurse to survivalist as she navigates a world overrun by the undead. She must deal with dangerous situations, deadly threats, and her own group's disagreements as she strives to protect her people and seek safety in a seemingly hopeless world. She faces the constant threat of both walkers and other humans, struggling to find a safe haven from the zombies while also trying to maintain her humanity. - I only own my characters; the rest belong to AMC and Robert Kirkman.

In a world overrun by the dead, survival isn't just about skill-it's about trust. Amara Hangings and her best friend, Henry have relied on each other to make it this far. Whenever they are captured by a group, they cross paths with a stuck-up, crossbow prick named Daryl Dixon. Henry sees danger in Daryl. Amara sees something else. As they fight through this new world, an uneasy trust begins to form. But in a world where attachments are a risk, letting someone in could be the most dangerous choice of all. For Daryl, survival has always been black and white-until Amara proves that sometimes, the gray areas are worth the risk. ------------ This roughly takes place in the beginning of TWD. I changed the plot a bit to fit in more Amara x Daryl and to make more of a new plot while keeping the basics of the TWD season 1 plot. In this Daryl is late 20's- early 30's. I tried to keep in the character of Daryl Dixon as shown in TWD and what they have said in interviews. Enjoy! I DID NOT MAKE THIS CONCEPT. THIS IS A FANFIC FOR THE WALKING DEAD BECAUSE OF SCHOOL & SPRING CHAPTERS ARE OUT EVERY 1-2 WEEKS. THANKS best ranks: #72 in Dystopian #74 in Gory

I have been umming are aring over whether or not to re-edit this a 3rd time. & I have come to the decision that I want to simplify and reset the story in a sense, by turning the story line back to it original roots. I want to keep it true to the original character more than it currently is. this will be the final edit I will not be changing it after this. I hope I have the time and the patience to do it justice. I have a very busy life atm so please be patient with me and again I'm sorry for altering it once again but I'm not entirely happy with some of the more recent editorial decisions I've made. x (((Concidering the removal of a charector from this and doing a rewrite...))))
