"Look, it's your favorite color." I point at the light orange of the sunset.
I hear a faint rustling, and I turn over to see Peeta looking at me instead of the sky. "You remembered," he whispers.
"I remember everything about you," I reply, repeating his words to me. I expect to regret my honesty, feeling like I've shared too much. But I feel like I haven't shared enough. I want to tell him everything about himself, to prove just how much I remember. But I don't.
We just watch each other until the orange fades into dusky blue.

In the years following the dismantling of the Hunger Games, Katniss rekindles the fire between her and Peeta. Over time, they grow back together, relearning to love every part of each other. Moving on from the war isn't easy, especially when Katniss still revisits her greatest fears and worst memories every night. But Peeta is always there, keeping the nightmares away, keeping her safe.
However, though the world is changed, it will never truly be safe.

The years following the war. Post canon, basically what leads to the epilogue.
CW: Mild sexual content, violence, death, pregnancy, panic attacks
PSA, there will be canon divergence, and the later books will get pretty dark. Also, I wrote this when I was thirteen or fourteen, so even though it's edited, it might not be good.
Against all odds, Katniss has survived the Hunger Games, but nothing is as she wishes. Her relationship with Peeta is strained, and whispers of rebellion swirl around them. As they embark on the Victory Tour, Katniss agrees to be friends with Peeta, but quickly realizes she wants more.
Their romance becomes real, but as pressure mounts to prove their love to the world, they do the only thing they can think to save them and the people they love: get engaged.
But the lines of their public and private lives blur when they decide to marry outside of the pressure of the Capitol, holding a private toasting for themselves in an attempt to preserve as much as their relationship for themselves as they can.
As the Quarter Quell is announced, Katniss and Peeta prepare for the Games, each determined to sacrifice themselves for the other's survival. But everything changes when Katniss unexpectedly discovers she is pregnant. Though terrified, she remains resolute in sacrificing herself, while Peeta's love for the unborn child strengthens his will to protect them both.
