His firehouse gets a call of a reported house fire and the only person saved is a small kid named Evan Buckley. Without any family willing to take him, and the police unable to locate his sister, Bobby gets clearance to give the child a roof over his head. He was drawn to the boy, and he knows he can take good care of him.

Buck wanted to go home. He wanted nothing more than to be back with his family and to go home. Things had been rough this last year though, first his leg got crushed, he had a pulmonary embolism, he was told he couldn't come back to work, and then there was a tsunami. Even with now being allowed back at work after making the mistake of filing a lawsuit, things were still a bit strained. His family and home still felt like they were an arm's length out of reach.
