Champion City, one of the greatest hotspots for superheroes and supervillains ever since thirty years ago, when super-powered individuals started to appear thanks to the rare genetic trait known as the S-Genome. So, who am I? A hero? A villain? Nope! Other than your lovely narrator, I'm unfortunately just a simple henchman. A super awesome, amazing, incredible... ...powerless grunt. At the bottom of the ladder, every day I work low-level criminal jobs for the high-powered supervillains of this city. To the world, I'm a worthless nobody. So, with that in mind, I have to ask. Why have these superheroes and supervillains become so extremely obsessed over me? Well, it all started with one wrong heist... A new take on the first novel of the Anti-Hero story line, with updated and polished writing. Expanding and rewriting the story along with adding never before scenes and characterizations with most of the original story beats along the way. This is not the official canon novel, however I'd like to think of it as an alternative universe. You might recognize some things, and see new ones as well. This is also a test for the audience to see how my writing has improved over the years. See which one does best. This is a demo, and will only be up to eight chapters before the main plot of the story unfolds. So if this gets enough traction and if people like this version more, then I'll continue writing it and make this one the canon version instead. (This would also make it a rewrite for Secrets of Demise)

Since the dawn of time, humanity has been divided over various subjects. All of which are frankly, incredibly trivial. This being, but is not limited to race, religion, beauty, size, wealth, politics, and more. The heavy amounts of bickering and debating over these subjects, going as far as starting wars and in-fighting within families, even breaking some apart. This is further proven by the sudden appearance of enhanced individuals nicknamed "Blights," which single-handedly explains the general consensus about them. Hated and oppressed, Blights have had their backs against the wall for decades. Teenager Liam Wang must learn how to juggle both his civilian life and the life of his super-powered, crime-fighting persona "Narukami" and all that comes with it. Oh, and also a super-powered serial killer running around the city, murdering whoever they see fit. Yeah, he's probably screwed.

"I've tried telling them I'm only fifteen. That no sane government would force a boy my age to fight crime. 'But Max, you're a superhero! Isn't this what you want?' Actually, no. I just kind of want to get through high school. Then we'll talk about this 'superhero' business." Max Owens is your average high school sophomore. Well, he tries to be, at least. At fifteen, he's got more important things to do than fight the infamous Vinicus Cauldwell. With his single mother having recently lost her job, Max is determined to help his family get back up on its feet. The publicity and pressure that comes with being a superhero would be too much to handle right now. But it's hard to fly under the radar, when you can literally fly. Meanwhile, Vinicus Cauldwell enjoys the power he has as Murkbourne's most feared super-villain. For once, he can sit back and relax without being pestered by the police. That is, until Max arrives. Vinicus isn't happy about having to fight a child, but he can't let Max find out. After all, super-villains can't be "good people"... Can they? We can't all be born heroes. Only, it's soon her that becomes the one lost to the drains. To survive she must rediscover her world, and in the process, rediscover herself. She will be reunited with old friends, gain new ones, find out deeper secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined, and learn that the world is even more corrupt than she always thought. *** This story contains sexist ideology, mention of cheating, some gruesome scenes, and a whole lot of monsters and darkness. It isn't overly mature... there isn't much explicit language or sexual scenes, but there is a bit of violence, so just keep that in mind... and despite all that negativity, ENJOY!

All I wanted was to help. I didn't expect to discover a world of non-humans. I have enough to juggle between going through medical school and work to pay for my tiny apartment. But when Ruby, a young pregnant woman is in need of help, I decide that one more thing can't hurt, right? I guess the answer is yes when it ends up with me trapped in the centaur world with a one year old and an electric fox that could stab me in the back at any moment... again. It doesn't help that I don't know the language and they're on the lookout for me. My goal is to make it home or to the child's father. But they're centaurs, unicorns, and pegasus after me.
