Will Byers is a shy and small kid that just moved to Hawkins Indiana. Mike Wheeler is an outcast along with his best friends, Jane, Max, Dustin and Lucas. As a coincidence bring them together the two boys slowly realize that they have feelings for one another. But what consequences will that bring to them?

It is 1985, in Hawkins, Indiana. Jane Ives, better known as Eleven, has nearly a year left to live a free childhood. She is living with her guardian, Jim Hopper, and spending time with Mike Wheeler every chance she gets. One thing that she struggles with is her ego, which she has trouble controlling, and she can release her powers from no where, hurting someone. Will Byers on the other hand has had some issues as well. Though the shadow monster is out if him, he still feels a type of power inside of him. He finds out it is true, when he cannot only see what is happening in the Upside-Down, he also has another, dangerous power. But Eleven and Will will discover there are more people like them, each with different, incredible powers. There are some who accept and live in the world, while there are others who wish to control it, and make people fear them. Eleven and Will must choose a side, to choose where to place their powers.

Will's best friends, and partners in crime, Dustin, Mike, and Lucas, all search out for Will in their own efforts. As they search the area where Will was possibly last spotted, they hoped they would find more of their friend's whereabouts. But what they found...or shall I say...who they found was far more than they expected. Eleven and her older sister, Five, both escaped the clutches of the 'bad place'. Hawkins Lab. But after their exploration of civilization, they become separated during a horrible rainstorm. Eleven found 3 boys while Five found Deputy Jace Hopper, Jim Hopper's nephew. The mystery of these two girls begin to unravel the veil that Hawkins Lab have struggled to keep hidden from the town for so many years. Jim Hopper's niece, Delilah Hopper, moved to Hawkins after her parents died in a fire. Delilah was sent to live with Hopper after the accident and she had trouble adjusting. She was childhood friends with the Byers. Until Nancy Wheeler brought her to a bonfire where she met the king of Hawkins High, Steve Harrington. The night Will Byers went missing was the night Delilah's life changed. She always thought about everyone other than herself. After Steve noticed Delilah's disinterest in him, he suddenly grew interested in her, changing the stubborn, emotionless girl.
