My body shudders feeling his hands linger around my arm when he randomly decides to lift his arm and punch his hand into the mirror. I let out a scream as all the mirror pieces shatter and scratch my skin.' A few snippets so far: I felt naked in front of him. He's stripped me bare, pulled back my flesh, cracked open my rib cage to literally have my heart in his hands. My thoughts are soon abruptly stopped when I hear heavy breathing next to me, then I can feel the rise and fall of someone's chest and the heaviness of something wrapped around my torso. The imaginary glue in my eyes disappears as they open in a flash. To my utter disbelief and confusion, I find Harry sleeping...in my bed...with me. What, when how...what in the world is happening?! My internal panic worsens when I realize if he's here he saw the broken glass and blood in the room. FUCKING HELL! "Don't freak out, don't freak out," I talk out loud to myself but it's not fucking working. **** Last fucking chance to tell me I'm wrong and you're not hoeing around then sleep in my bed!" I say as harshly as I can. She doesn't say anything, doesn't even bat an eye at what I said. I pick up her phone on my nightstand and throw it at the closed door and watch her body tense up in anger. Her fists are white from how tightly she is clamping her fingers in her palm and her jaw is clenched. "You said it yourself, we're just friends. Friends don't act jealous like this," she quietly speaks. "I am not jealous; I couldn't give a fuck less. Have nothing to be jealous of." She takes a step back like I hit her, I can see her shattering right in front of me. "You know your way out. Get the fuck out of my apartment now," she walks over to grab her phone that bounced off the wall and walks out, she stops before she closes the door all the way.

I saw her long before she saw me. She didn't know then that her fate had already been sealed, that every step she took was drawing her closer to me. Closer to what she would become. There was something in her-something fragile, something wild. A fear she tried to hide, wrapped in defiance and confidence. It was intoxicating, watching her, knowing that no one else could see what I saw. No one else could feel the pull like I did. The slow, deliberate unraveling of her world as it would soon be tethered to mine. I felt my heart beat once, hard and fast. It was the only signal I needed. She would be mine-not in some fleeting, hollow way. No. I would strip away every shield, every defense, until she was laid bare, body and soul. And when she looked at me for the first time, I knew. I began this story in the summer of 2013; I don't remember what my inspiration for this story was, but I can remember shopping around ideas with friends of mine and then I thought of this, and they all thought it was a dark, and very sad idea. So, years later, I've decided to release it in its unabridged, unedited, copied straight from the file entirety, as one big thing. This is also the only instance where I wrote about a hetero couple. There's bound to be spelling and/or grammar mistakes, and for that I'm sorry.

"Mommy?" I looked up from her arms and into her smile. "Yes, my little light?" She replied back, with a curious grin. Nothing but love, gentleness, and kind warmth on her sweet face. Six year old me stared into her glistening eyes. Eyes that could melt glaciers. Those eyes. "What is it my love?" She questioned again with an angelic smile. That damn smile. The sudden breeze pushed the windows to slam open against the walls, as the curtains flew up and the rose candle was blown out. The night crept in, invading my bedroom. My mother gasped with a frightened jump and called out my name. Frantically, she flipped the bedside lamp on when she heard no reply. Panic washed over her face as she kneeled beside her sweet little girl, now covered in a blood stained night gown, black eye and bloody lip. "Why did you let him hurt me, mommy?" My mother gasped and fell back onto her hands. Terrified, she stood and with no hesitation, made a dash for the door, leaving her baby girl in the dark corner. Her panicked attempt to leave the room came to a complete stop as she came to face the full length mirror. She stared back in horror, only it wasn't her looking back at her reflection. It was me -Kali emerges from her past that has left every piece of her in ruins. Her life was left shattered into a million pieces. With intentions of starting a new life, she feels like her past will never let her go. When starting over doesn't promise a new start, Kali's life is thrusted in and out of place.

"What happened? Are you..." He trails off, as he looks down at my body, and I stiffen. Holy shit, I forgot all about that. "Ives... What is this?" he asks, and he pulls his hands away from me. 🌹 Ives has just moved away from her overprotective brother and their alcoholic dad to go to college. She is trying her best to put her past behind her, but it keeps coming back to haunt her. In this book we get to know Ives and her new friends as she struggles with her newfound freedom.
