They made it out of the ghetto before it was too late and grasping at opportunities, illegal and otherwise. They've been together for years and were happy--they are crazy about each other. He was a successful lawyer and drug dealer, and she was a former pageant queen turned, pageant coach and TV host. She loved him...though his temper would sometimes get out of hand- and he loved her, even though he sometimes hurts her. They make it work. But how long can they both compromise? Something has got to change.

She's offered a position as a principal at a local high school but there's one problem. She's pregnant, and the county doesn't see it fit for an unwedded mother to take a position such as this. Shawn Carter had everything going for him. He married the love of his life, Whom he created a beautiful Daughter with. He had his own business, life was great. Things changed, one day unexpectedly his daughter was crushed by a bulldozer that lost control. Her legs were crushed and skull was cracked. Medical bills piled up and his wife didn't see her self taking care of a disabled child. Things are getting worse by the day, and his daughter needs more surgery, but he can't afford it. Through a mutual friend Beyoncé and Shawn meet. They both have something each other needs. He needs money and she needs his last name. The least they could do is help each other right?

She has a story that people often shy away from. They usually tell you about the other kind of her that usually doesn't want to be put in their situation. Some of these other women want more and don't want to play second fiddle to the leading lady. But, Beyonce Knowles isn't her. She's played the leading lady for many years and constantly found herself grieving because her understudy had won. But when her first marriage fails, she vows to never become the leading lady ever again.
