What if Katniss didn't volunteer? What if Prim went into the games? Would she die? If so, who would be the victor? I've looked online almost every a Hunger Games fangirl is interested in this subject. They have written stories and theories, but here is my version. I do not own any of these characters, or any part of the Hunger Games story. This is simply a fanfic, all rights goes to Suzanne Collins. This story is a part of a new fanfic series called Change the Story. It is where I take some few books and change a part to see how the story would be different.

What if the Hunger Games switched between Gale, Katniss, and Peeta's points of view? What if Gale found out about Coin's plan to kill Prim? What if Katniss realized she loved Gale, but it was too late? What if someone hijacked Peeta again, but for different reasons? All these questions and more will be answered in this alternative ending for Mockingjay. This is an everthorne story, so please only read this if you're on team Gale. What would happen if Prim was in the Hunger Games instead of Katniss? Would she win or die? Would she start a rebellion like Katniss?

What if Peeta and Katniss never teamed up? What if Katniss finds trust in the most unlikely person? When Katniss volunteers for her sister, her only thought is to make it back to Prim. But what if another tribute catches her eye? Can she survive the Hunger Games? Can she figure out her mixed feelings for Cato? From the book: "So I want to know what you think about something. " I say slowly. He looks up curiously. " What is it Katniss? " he asks looking into my eyes. I feel immediately guilty for what I am about to say, especially since he saved my life by giving me bread. "So I have been thinking this over in my head and it seems that this is the only choice I have in order to make it home to Prim." I start. "Katniss?..." He says. He doesn't like what I am saying and I haven't even gotten to the worst part yet. "I know you want to make it back home to your family and I know that you are a part of my District, but I need to make it home to Prim!" I say, tears threatening to fall, I feel awful for what I am doing. Peeta looked extremely worried by this point. "What's wrong? What happened- " I cut him off " I'm... I'm... joining...the careers."

What if Katniss had never been born? On the day of the mine explosion Prim had been sick, forcing her father to take the day off work. With her father surviving the explosion, Prim realized how dangerous his job was and Prim demanded he teach her how to hunt incase he didn't get lucky again. Now Prim has a set of twins as younger siblings, Angelica and Gabe who are nine years old. With a family to help feed and protect, the worst thing that could happen would be for Prim to get picked on her first year eligible. Of course, the worst things always tend to happen. Will Prim survive the 74 annual Hunger Games? I DO NOT OWN THESE CHARACTERS, I MADE A FEW UP BUT THE MAJORITY ARE SUZAN COLLINS!
