The story tells of a young, sharp-witted princess called Zelda, who finds herself betrothed to the future king of Hyrule. However, her heart belongs to another; a poor, commoner boy named Link, whom she believes passed five long years ago. One day, she's taken hostage by a band of vagabonds and a mysterious man in black appears. The unsuspecting princess has no idea she'll be going on the adventure of a lifetime. A story which both Zelda fans and people who don't even know what Nintendo is can enjoy. It's a princess's dream to be swooped away by her knight in shining armour, but for Zelda, this knight has to be a prince as well, in order to follow the King's rules. Link and Zelda's love is put at stake when trust and loyalty are tested. Can the two break through the laws to pursue their love, or will they give in and follow the path chosen for them? Nintendo own the characters of Link and Zelda, as well as the location of Hyrule and Hateno Village, but the rest of the character are all my own, as well as... the other location. In modern day Hyrule, Link is an orphan who lives in an orphanage. Because he is meant to be the Hero of Hyrule, his bunkmates get jealous and bully him for it. When Link enters first grade, he befriends Zelda, the most beautiful girl in Hyrule, and eventually falls in love with her. The two become inseparable, but everything changes when Zelda hits puberty; she vanishes and doesn't show up at school. Link tries to contact and find her, but no luck. Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda.
