It's been a year since Nico and Will's trip to Tartarus and people seem to be moving on with their lives. Annabeth and Percy are both studying at New Rome University, Hazel and Frank are becoming more comfortable in their roles as Praetors, Grover is leading Satyrs in re-planting some nature spaces, and Reyna and Thalia have been with the hunters for a while and haven't been seen by either camp in six months. Piper and Leo haven't made contact but from what Apollo told them it seems they are setting in their new lives. Everyone has moved past their demigod lives more or less. Everyone except, it seems, Nico and Will. After their expedition to Tartarus, Will began to get nightmares. He and Nico now share the roles of comforter and comforted and they help each other discover and control their new found gifts. All seemed well for them until Nico got a job in a city that made him leave Will for long periods of time. Although Nico comforts Will and they Iris message frequently, Will is afraid to be alone and is scared that Nico is going to move on before Will is ready to. Now, Annabeth and Percy decided to go to the concert of a new singer and when they realize who it is, everything becomes more complicated.

Nico felt like Icarus. Fly too close to the sun, and your wings will melt. Fly too close to the sea, your wings will grow heavy. Nico had already flown too close to the sea. He had allowed his infatuation with Percy to rule his life, his decisions, for far to many years. His wings had grown heavy, and he'd drowned. Icarus had made a mistake. He strayed too far, entranced by the kindness of the light. The dark wouldn't be as welcoming, ushering you in with no hesitancy and crossed arms. That didn't work out so well for Icarus. So, Nico would allow this filter, this light, to cover him, shroud him in kindness, and possibility, and warmth. But he would not cross further. He would not succumb to the light only to fall forever into darkness. He would do what Icarus couldn't. Nico di Angelo would not fly too close to the sun. Cover art by viria!

Nico diAngelo didn't really have a problem with moving, he just continued his life how it was before. Writing, listening to music, sitting in the back of the classroom, making sure not to get too close to anyone, and maybe falling asleep in class. Also spending half of his energy keeping himself from falling apart. That is, until he met Will. Will was like medicine for his heart. When Will held his hand, it felt as if he could relax and let go of his troubles, but when he had to let go, that was something he wasn't ready for, causing to have meltdowns for the first time in a long time. Will had been living a rather boring life in his town, same faces, same friends, he wanted change. When the new boy was in some of his classes at the start of the new school year, Will couldn't help but be curious after seeing the same faces almost all of his life. He was drawn to him in some way he couldn't describe, and couldn't help falling for him as they spent more time together. This book has characters that are created by Rick Riordan, yet there are a few, like Nico's father which is a small character that I created. This book has come from my own imagination, and if it seems that parts of the plot are from another story, that is entirely coincidental.

But when he runs into Annabeth Chase, his life is changed. For the better. What will happen to Annabeth? How is she so life altering to Percy? Find out in Who Could Have Known. Nico di Angelo, is a busy man. Don't get him wrong, he loves his job, he's good at it. He loves to write, he loves to sell his songs and hear them come to life with so many talented musicians. And now he has ANGEL, he can release his own music without any of the nepotism allegations. Because the last thing his father would do is give him extra attention - but if he keeps winning awards, maybe he just might get his attention. That's what he used to tell himself, and then he won a literal Grammy and his father still didn't care. But by that point, Nico had worked himself up the DOA Records ladder first as a musician and then becoming an award winning artist and he loved it enough he could forget his father's opinion (or lack thereof). Nico wasn't blind. He could admit that Will Solace was easy on the eyes (read: super fucking hot) but they were both young artists competing for the same awards and Nico didn't have the luxury of supportive, knowledgeable parents to help him out. So sue him, if he doesn't love Will Solace who seems to be trying separate himself from everything Nico ever wanted.
