This story takes place in an AU just when the flare broke out- it was actually based off of a dream that I had. (I have extremely detailed dreams unfortunately) also, it's purely just for fun that I'm posting it here. I don't expect anyone to read it, but if you do, thanks I guess?? I'm actually pretty pleased with how it turned out. A little backstory: Alex, (who, yes, is a character in my moriarty x reader series as well) had maladaptive daydreaming, as well as depersonalization/derealization disorder. These make him 'zone out', sometimes at the worst of times, as you will see in this book.

So here we are now, the start of this character. This is a continuation of my OC, but I have it as you can name him whatever who you want him to be, but the Default is Kaito Yukimura if you have nothing to name him. Many of you may remember my story Basically Strangers. This is the better version, rewritten to make more sense. Its yandere x nonbinary reader. I've changed the story and edited the characters. The reader uses they/them pronouns. Okay, so. This is going to be a weird thing to say, but Arkin has a caregiver personality towards the reader. Anyone who knows about or takes part in age regression will recognize that fairly quickly. If his personality and actions make you uncomfortable, stop reading. Don't get mad at me for my character. This was originally based on the idea of "I like you and literally nobody else". I originally wrote the story when I was 14. I'm rewriting it as a 17 year old. Listen. If you don't want a really, really long story full of angst and romance, skip this one. It's rare for me to not write a fic in one go, but this one took me two days to bash out. I have no idea why; the idea teased me, and it just... went in a direction I didn't expect.
