Princess Luna and her elder sister Princess Celestia were members of Heaven's guardians. When it's time for the inhabitants in Heaven to go to sleep, she has the ability to raise the moon. Everything was perfect, but that didn't last long since Luna uncovered a sinister secret that only Sera, the Exorcists, and Adam knew about, leaving everyone else in Heaven in the dark. The Extermination. Luna addressed them, horrified, telling them that it is wicked and wrong to slaughter sinners in Hell. Her sister was also alarmed when Luna informed her about it. Luna was then sentenced to Hell as a result of her questioning them, leaving Princess Celestia devastated to watch her dear sister go. After being banished to Hell, Luna vowed to defend those who had sinned, built her own empire, and attracted the interest of several demons and sins. Will she ever get to see her sister again? Who knows.

The past always comes back to haunt the present, there is no escaping the inevitable. For decades, Celestia has kept a secret from her student. A secret she made out of pain, and through pain will be revealed for all to see; for Twilight Sparkle is the secret daughter of the Sun. Now, there will be consequences. Consequences, they come in all shapes and sizes for every decision. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. These words are lessons that Princess Celestia should know, bits of wisdom she practices in her rule of Equestria. How is it then, that when faced with a decision, she chooses the one that would inevitably bring the most pain? How is it that she couldn't bear being recognized as the mother of her child? And why? Twilight Sparkle is about to find out.

A thousand years ago, Princess Celestia banished her sister to the moon, that much we know. What wasn't known, and what Celestia kept secret was that before her banishment, Luna had given birth to a foal. Now a thousand years later, as Nightmare returns to Equestria to bring about Eternal Night. Twilight Sparkle, protege of Princess Celestia, struggles against the tyranny of this ancient foe. But how will she be able to save herself and her friends when the truth of this ancient legend crashes down upon her? Twilight will have to confront herself...and her heritage.

It should have been the happiest day of her life. Despite all odds, Twilight passed the entrance exam to Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. Not only that, but she also got asked to be the Princess's personal protege. And if that wasn't already amazing enough, she even got her cutie mark! So why wasn't the filly prancing around in circles shouting "Yes, Yes, Yes" over and over again? Being the victim of an uncontrolled surge did not only grant her enough magic to give life to a dragon but apparently also made it possible for her to get glimpses of her future, showing her a destiny she really does not care for. So, knowing where her current path would lead her, there is really no sensible alternative than throwing everything away and changing her destiny to one she can agree to, setting her up for a life of intrigue and adventure, uncovering the many mysteries surrounding her and a certain pegasus, to find out who they really are. Unfortunately, in doing so, she ruins the carefully laid out plans a certain Princess of the Sun had drawn up. But knowing the forgiving nature of Celestia, there is no way that could lead to conflict, right?

King Sombra goes to Canterlot. Princess Luna fills her thoughts with him. Celestia hates Sombra due to being embarrassed in front of him and because he paid more attention to Luna. But if Luna fell in love with Sombra... What would happen if Celestia found out?
