Shadow and Sterling are sent on a simple mission by the guard, a boring mission neither of them want to go on; patrol a trade route path. Sterling is a unicorn and is prepared to do his duty to the crown and uphold the standards set before him by his predecessors, he won't waver in his conviction to the task. He isn't ready for the happy and energetic mare he's sent with. Shadow, on the other hand, is a happy thestral mare who only wants to live to the idea dream of being a guard. Spending her youth reading books about gallant mares rushing into battle and saving the day, she hopes for her moment to shine. She doesn't know how little fun it's going to be working with such a stoic stallion, while barely repressing her diestrus urges.

Rainbow Dash and Soarin' start as professional teammates, each with their own strengths and quirks. As they train together, they begin to understand each other more deeply, finding common ground between their differences. Shallow Speed, an alicorn that watches over Equestria from the shadows inside of the time rift. He loses his powers, when he returned to Equestria. He then finds Twilight Sparkle, and asks her to help him become an alicorn again. She might be the only one that can give him his wings and horn back, but there is something else that she gives him, that changed his life forever. In getting his powers back, he then seeks to find his old friend, and patch things up, but in the end, is this friend really worth saving. After which, a couple years later, Shallow trains to fight an evil that will soon come to Equestria. In figuring out how to get rid of it, something terrible occurs. What happens afterwards...

Her third and final dream was to have a family that wouldn't judge her for her flaws but her peers told her that it would never happen because she was too flawed for anyone to not judge her. the filly's heart broke more and more each day she was told her dreams won't come true until one day she ran away from the place she once called home to try to escape her pain after loosing her only friend Zipp Storm. the filly then found others that were without families like her and she lead them to create their own home but her pain stayed as she grew, she became cold and untrusting towards thoses around her. Will Sunny and her friends be able to help her with her pain? or will they fail to stop her plans of making everypony know the pain she's felt her whole life.
