Shortly after his arrival, he was captured and imprisoned under the orders of the prophet Zachary Comstock, who seems to reign over this place. While he should be executed, Mathias is saved by Elizabeth Comstock, a beautiful young woman, and the daughter of Zachary. Together, Elizabeth and Mathias become fugitives and have to escape the forces that are chasing them, also with the presence of Songbird, a strange giant robotic bird that only Elizabeth seems able to control, besides the appearance of Robert and Rosalind Lutece, a mysterious duo of scientists who seem to have a link with the town of Columbia. But what began as a simple escape turns into a mission to save the world when Elizabeth and Mathias discover the terrifying secrets hidden in Columbia and the real plan of the prophet. By helping mutually, a friendship born between Mathias and Elizabeth, and gradually turns into something more sincere and strong. Elizabeth and Mathias can they succeed in thwarting the mysterious plot that could destroy the world already ravaged by war? What secrets are they about to discover?

I looked up and stared. My reflection looked back at me in the mirror of the dark room. My eyes were literally glowing, there was no mistaking it. It was not a reflection of light, or any of the other excuses I had used or others had assumed. They were glowing a light sapphire blue color. It was not a bright glow, but it was definitely a glow.
Glowing eyes were not normal.
Okay, at this point I had to admit it, I was no longer normal.
