It was a lovely afternoon at Third Street School. The sun was shining against the pavement, the birds were chirping and the bell had just rung, signaling the end of the school week. The doors opened as a flood of students ran out, excited for the weekend. As the Recess Gang walked out behind the cacophony of happy kids, T.J. let out a satisfied sigh.

"Well gang, I believe that concludes a great day of peacemaking! We solved so many problems today!"

"It's a statistical anomaly! I think that this is the most problems that the Playground has ever seen fixed on one day before." Gretchen replied.

"It's not a surprise honestly, we're the best at what we do." Spinelli bragged as she and the rest of the Gang walked out of the school. Vince gave her a high five as they all strutted along the concrete pathway.

"You got that right, Spin, but I think the true MVP today was (Y/n)! She was solving problems left and right, so fast you could hardly see her! I almost couldn't keep up with it all." The boy stated as he nudged his friend with an elbow.

"Hey, don't sell yourself short, Vin! I couldn't have done any of it without your guys' help. I'm just the music girl, that's all." (Y/n) shrugged as she rubbed the back of her neck.

"Still, being the music girl help us for every situation we faced today, especially with calming down the Kindergarteners. It's very impressive." Gus said as the group walked past the chain link fence in front of the building.

"Thanks, I appreciate it. Maybe next week it'll come in handy again."

"I wouldn't doubt it! You're an important part of the team and we're glad to have ya!" Mikey said as he placed a friendly hand on top of (Y/n)'s head. The girl laughed as she gently pushed his hand away with a smile.

"Yeah, yeah, I know!  Listen, I gotta go, but I'll see you guys next week! Talk to you later!" (Y/n) explained as she pulled away with a wave to everyone.

As (Y/n) walked away from the school, she took a deep breath in, enjoying the warm sun and the peaceful quiet. A soft wind blew past her as she strode down the street with a smile. Waving to some townspeople as she went, she stopped in her tracks when someone started speaking.

"(Y/n), over here!" A voice called from behind the girl. She turned around to see her boyfriend, Lawson, standing next to a tree. With a wide grin on her face, she sprinted as fast as she could, hopping into his arms with a happy giggle as he embraced her in a hug.

"Finally, there's my girl! I thought you were never gonna get away from the Lame Gang!" Lawson announced as he placed a soft kiss on top of the girls head.

"Hey, be nice! I know you don't get along with them very well, but they're still my friends and you should respect that."

"Alright, alright, I will! I just don't get why you gotta hang out with them every day. I wanna spend time with you too, y'know?"

"Yeah, I know that we dont get to hang out with each other at school sometimes, but it just makes seeing each other after a lot better. And, hey! We've got the whole weekend to spend with each other now, so let's get it goin'!" (Y/n) exclaimed with a spin. Lawson looked to her with a chuckle as he held out his hand for her to take.

"Come on, (N/n), I already got an afternoon planed for us. Let's go get some ice cream and then we'll go from there." The brown haired boy told his girlfriend as she held his hand. They walked down the street, talking about their day for a while before (Y/n) squeezed Lawson's palm to get his attention.

"Hey, Erwin, I have a proposition for you!"

"And what would that be, dollface?"

"I'll race you the rest of the way there and beat you too! You owe me my favorite flavor if I win!" (Y/n) squealed as she began to run down the sidewalk.

"Oh, not if I get there first!" Lawson answered with a laugh as he began to chase after (Y/n).

As trees and houses zoomed by, the young couple darted through town before begin evenly matched as they approached the ice cream parlor. With one final push of stamina, Lawson managed to cut off (Y/n) and get through the doors with a leap. Lawson cheered victoriously with (Y/n) coming in a few seconds later, huffing in breathlessness.

"Dang it, I really thought I could win this time! I don't understand how you can be so fast. I was counting on getting that ice cream, too!" (Y/n) pouted as she crossed her arms along her chest. Lawson put his arm around her as the two walked further into the shop.

"Don't worry about it, toots. I would have bought you your favorite either way."

"Wait, really?! Even though I lost horribly?"

"Of course, anything for my girl!"

"Thank you so much, you are the best!" (Y/n) marveled as she leaned against Lawson's shoulder.

"No problem, (Y/n). Now let's get those cones before they run out of ice cream." Lawson chortled as they walked up to the counter.

The rest of the day for (Y/n) and Lawson was filled with fun. The two went to the park and the lake for a while before ending the day in a treehouse, watching the sunset as they leaned against each other.

"Today has been so awesome. Thanks for everything, Lawson."

"Hey, don't worry about it! I'd do anything to make you happy, (N/n)."

"You're so sweet, I love you so much!" (Y/n) sighed gleefully before she kissed Lawson on the cheek. With a blush and a sheepish smile upon his features, Lawson pulled (Y/n) closer to his side as he lovingly stared down at her.

"Love you too, (Y/n)..."
