Rapunzel walks in between Cass and Eugene, her mind set on getting her friend back. They, including some guards were going to go searching for Varian right now. They were heading to the forest, not being there just yet.

Eugene leaned towards rapunzel "you sure you want to do this sunshine?" She nodded. Cass was visibly uncomfortable around Louis, who was currently leading them.

Eugene decided to lighten the mood "so big strong scary guy, how long have you been hunting witches?" Louis stayed silent "okay small talk isn't on the table then..." he frowned. Cassandra rolled her eyes, "anything you say is off the table Eugene." They playfully glared at each other.

Rapunzel smiled at their antics, forgetting about her lost friend for just a second, but, of course, that second didn't last long. "I hope he's okay."

"You're an idiot" you say blatantly while cleaning his face of any burns or stains caused by the mini explosion. Varian was wincing from pain, midnight yelled at him in meows. Ruddiger however slept on your pillow calmly.

Varian protested "I did what you said! 'Put the blue and yellow potions together!' Isn't that what you said?" You shook your head as you finished the touches on his face.

"No you blueberry! I said blue then yellow! If you mix them at the same time it becomes toxic! And burns to the touch, also it creates an explosion!" You lightly cup his cheek subconsciously "how does it feel now?" Your face softened as you examined it again.

He held your hand, you pulled it away immediately "it feels like my face." You frown and laugh. You look at midnight, he was enjoying watching you two talk.

There was a comforting silence "you want to go on a walk?" Varian suggested "a what." You tilted your head.

"Y'know a walk! Like through the forest, I mean when was the last time you relaxed?" Varian smiled, you thought for a moment then shrugged. How long has it been since you just took it easy? You then ponder if you've been Afraid for 12 long years.

"I guess a walk wouldn't hurt...but if we do and get caught by someone we need an easy escape." You put your head down, thinking. "What about your broom?" You look up shocked. He must've seen it yesterday.

You let out a fake laugh "I don't know what you're talking about." You looked away, he looks at you with a pleading expression. You turned back to him, staring at his expression. "You really are a puppy."

You sat on the broom, you didn't want to ride your broom but you couldn't say no to Varian, well at least not with that expression. "go, get, I know you know how to do this." You spoke to it softly, Varian laughed. "Really?" He choked out. You glared back at him. Midnight meowed directions but you didn't understand, you were focused on the broom.

You were both standing outside. You wore the witches hat while you sat on the broom. Varian watched as you tried and failed miserably to get the broom going. "Why aren't you going!" you whine through clenched teeth. Midnight meowed again

Varian put a hand on your shoulder "can I try?" You look at him with dull eyes.

"No, you need one of these" you beckoned him closer and put your back to him, pulling your hair out of the way. There was a burn on the back of your neck, shaped like the sun but with a crescent moon inside of it. "Without it you can't fly."

You squealed as something cold touches your neck. "WHAT THE HELL MAN?!" you scream at Varian. He laughed. Midnight laughs in cat.

You rubbed your neck "sorry I just wanted to see how it felt!" He laughed, basically rolling on the ground at this point. "Well you can't feel it through gloves can you!? Ugh...the suns falling asleep we better get this walk over with."

"Why are you bringing the broom?"

"Because I can hit people with it." Midnight meowed one last time.

Rapunzel was starting to get tired as the sun set, Cassandra noticed this "maybe we should head home, we've been out here for hours." She said as she grabbed rapunzel's hand, her other hand rested in Eugene's.

Louis was still silent as rapunzel responded, "No! We're going to find Varian and bring him home! Besides you saw how worried his dad was!" Rapunzel frowned at the thought.

They had spoken with Quirin on the issue, he was As nervous as they were, he had asked them to bring Varian home first hand. Everyone was sad about how he asked though. He seemed so sad and concerned, but he couldn't Leave his people.

Louis stopped, silence ringing across the party, the rustling of leaves made everyone freeze. Eugene and Cassandra pushed rapunzel behind them. The rustling got louder and faster.

Out jumped Varian, panting from how fast he was running. "Varian!" He heard his name and looked at everyone. They all came closer to hug him but more rustling made them pause.

"I found y-ooooh no" you hopped out hoping to find Varian but there was Louis in all his glory. You used the broom to push Varian behind you. Midnight hissed at the tall man.

Rapunzel shouted "Varian are you okay?" Varian shouted back something reassuring her.

You smirked "Louie! It's good to see you're still out and about! Though it would be better if you were dead!" You said, a smile plastering itself on your face.

Louis looked at you, anger is the only way for you to describe it. Varian looked at you with worry, you looked back and nodded. "You want to dance? We can dance!" You pointed your broom at him. "Midnight protect Varian." The cat looked up at you before standing near Varian.

You two circled around each other for a moment. Then he lunged at you, you dodge as he keeps trying to grab you. Varian watched in pure fear as the trio rushed over. "Kid are you hurt?" Eugene asked followed by Cassandra "and if you are, do you know her weak spots?" She threatened slightly.

Varian put his hands up "no! No! You've got it all wrong! She's been really nice to me!" Midnight hopped on his shoulder where ruddiger usually would be, but he's still at home sleeping. Midnight meowed, making Varian turn and see you being held up by Louis. His hand around your throat.

You cough trying to remember how to breath. Varian looked at his friends and then back at you. This is a choice he's willing to make. He ran leaving his friends in the dust.

You see Varian "Va...ri...rian" you choked he grabbed louis' ar, and pulled "let her go you giant meathead! Woah!" He was shoved off of Louis and sent to the ground. His friends rand over to make sure he was okay.

Midnight had, had it. The cat jumped onto Louis' face and began scratching it up, he dropped you causing you to hyperventilate. When you looked up however you saw something you wish you could unsee.

Louis ripped midnight off his face, dropped the cat to the ground. Stomped on him then kicked him into a tree.

Your scream was bloodcurdling. You ran to midnight picked the cat up and cried. "YOU MONSTER!" You yelled running in the direction Varian was in. Louis tried to grab you but you swung around and hit his face with your broom.

Varian got up and met you halfway. Your face had tears in it. He looked at you then at his friends "we need to get out of here" you both started running, Varian' friends called out to him but nothing could be heard well enough.

You didn't realize it but you for on your broom and pulled Varian along with you as you started flying. It was honestly really cool.

But you didn't care about that...

You just needed to make sure he was okay
