Chapter Three
I sat in the van with Bella next to me, I sat silently, knowing Edward wouldn't show, that was when I heard my name. "Y/N!" I looked gleaming.
"Jake! What- never mind, this is your rez." I giggled and he nodded sitting next to me.
"You-"
"I am not surfing." I scoffed.
"You guys should keep her company, Bell's is going with Ang, and Y/Ns date bailed."
"He didn't bail. He said he might not be able to, and it was a gesture of politeness, not an invitation as a date." I huffed and mike looked at me.
"What date??"
"Edward." Jess laughed
"I think it's nice, no one ever asks the Cullens."
"Cause the Cullens are freaks."
"Mikey-"
"You got that right." The friend of Jacobs agreed. I looked down.
"Maybe hes a freak cause hes treated that way." I looked up and they looked at me, my friends seemed to think about what I said, but Jacobs's friend looked at me stone cold, colder than Edward.
"The Cullen's don't come here."
"OoO." I hummed. "I see." I smiled and the guy almost smiled. Jacob took my hand and walked me away from them, and as we walked I looked around the area. "So Jakey," I said and he nodded. "What did your friend mean by 'the Cullens don't come here?" I mocked a deep ominous voice. He laughed.
"You pay attention. Well, it's just a scary story."
"Yknow I love your stories."
"Okay, so remember I told you the Quileutes are descended from wolves." He said and I nodded. "Okay, so the Cullen's are some kind of enemy clan. Our chief, my great-great-grandfather, found them hunting on our land, but they claimed to be something different than they are. We made a treaty with them, that if they stayed off our land, we wouldn't expose them to the..." he touched my cheek. "Pale faces."
"But, they came from Alaska.."
"Or.."
"Just came back," I mumbled looking at the waters. "What are they then?"
"We call them the Cold Ones. But that's all my dad would go on around me." He said and I nodded understanding. Cold ones, he was cold. Physically and sometimes emotionally.

I was looking up things when I found myself on a Quileute book store page, writing down the address and the next day planned to go up with the girls, we all left and I stood in the dress store. "Hey guys, mind if I go to this store real quick and grab this book, I'll meet up with you, Bell's can stay here?" I asked and they all nodded letting me go. I walked down the road, I walked into the store and looked to find the book and a few others purchasing, but the male grabbed my hand quickly.
"Be careful out there, it's nightfall now." He said and I looked outside seeing the darkness.
"Thanks, sir." I nodded smiling, and walked out, slipping my books into my bag, and walked down and did a shortcut I used to when I was younger. Until heard something behind me, but I ignore it, better to make myself oblivious than observant to the eye. As I walked I heard walking when I slipped into a parking lot. I saw three guys ahead and looked back to see two. I cussed.
