You must've been a week or two into isolation when the boredom really set in: everything in the house was as clean as it could be; unfinished books now finished; language learning begun and abandoned. It was a shame you didn't have Animal Crossing. Alas at least you could annoy your boyfriend with a bad attempt at Comedy. He must be bored too you had reasoned as working from home mustn't be fun at all.
In the living room of your small house, you hung upside from the sofa rambling to Justin as he typed away on his laptop. Every now and then you'd draw out a chuckle from him with a semi-decent joke.
'Okay, okay, this one is a good one,' you struggled your way into an upright position and turned your body to face him. With a goofy grin, you said, 'What do you call birds who stick together?'
'I don't know love.'
'Vel-crows!'
He groaned in despair. His lips curling into a slight smile however. 'That was the worst joke I've ever heard.'
'Oh come on,' you encouraged him shoving him lightly on the arm, 'that can't be the worst joke; heck you Justin Ripley are smiling.'
'I love you,' he simply replies with warmth and love in his voice as he leans over to press a kiss to your cheek.
