a black cadillac was parked at the entrance of the airport for the girls.
jesy and leigh led them through the crowd, holding hands tightly, soon followed by jade and perrie. perrie had her sunglasses in again and hid under them. too many rumours and images have been going around of her lately. too much for her liking.
questions were flung around everywhere but the four girls ignored them all. they all piled into the back of the cadillac and started driving to the hospital.
"okay, can you two go to pez's house and drop off our bags, her mam said we can stay there and mine so we are flicking between the two and we'll meet you back at the hospital?" leigh-anne and jesy agreed and both looked at each other then out the window, not knowing what to say to the now upright and restricted girl.
jade leapt out of the as it pulled up to the hospital, perrie thanked the driver for them both and bid the girls goodbye. she looked around for jade to see her running into the hospital. perrie ran after her ignoring the following paps that were starting to swarm. she ran through the halls chasing jade to the ICU (intensive care unit) when jade came to a stop at the pass-only door. jade rang the bell but no answer, so she kept pressing it till a small black woman came out.
"may i help you, ma'am?" she said in a very sarcastic and fed-up tone.
"yeah, me mams in there. i need to get in, norma thirlwall is her name now we're going, come on babygirl." jade said grabbing perrie's hand and pulling her past the brown haired woman. she turned back and smiled at the woman giving her thanks before catching up with jade.
jade opened the door to see karl sat on the chair beside norma and little karl asleep in shirleen's lap.
karl got up and hugged his baby sister tightly. jade cried into his chest and perrie's heart broke at the scene. shirleen looked and saw perrie standing there with tears in her eyes. she got out of her seat, laying little karl down flat and walking over to the blonde, pulling her into a tight hug.
"it's good to see you again, perrie." she whispered. they pulled away and perrie smiled at her sweetly.
jade and karl had started to talk about their mam and perrie stood by the door awkwardly, she hadn't seen the family since before the split and she didn't know what to talk about. she was silent for a few minutes before jade looked at her and nodded her head, beckoning for her to come to her. karl and shirleen took it as an opportunity to go and get some sleep. perrie and jade agreed to watch little karl while they ran home for a few hours.
perrie sat next to jade, on the settee opposite karl, before she pulled the blonde to straddle her lap. perrie kicked off her trainers and cuddled into jade.
"are you okay?" she whispered into the brunettes neck. jade lifted perrie's head and moved her hands to hold her lower back.
"i'll be fine, thank you for being here, babygirl. i'm glad you are. i wouldn't have been able to do this without you..n' the girls i guess." she tried to joke through foggy eyes. perrie wiped her tears and kissed her deeply. it lasted seconds but felt like hours. it was calming and loving and everything the both of them needed in that moment.
they pulled away when they heard a giggle. perrie looked behind her to see karl stood smiling at them and jumping around, but when she looked at jade, she was looking down and then threw her head back against the wall. perrie felt something against her leggings and looked down to see another mound in jade's trackies. perrie giggled too and jade frowned.
"it's your fault!"
"don't blame me! it's your body, baby. not mine, should control yourself." perrie smirked.
jade smacked perrie's arse; not enough to hurt but enough to get her point across.
"you shouldn't be so fucking gorgeous, and stop shouting at me. i don't like shouting." jade said kissing perrie and picking the blonde up as she raised out of her seat. perrie laughed as jade span around with her. karl was jumping on the settee screaming with laughter.
soon they were all shattered and it was 8pm. karl and shirleen had came and got little karl and took him home as jade told them she'd stay the night and that they can come back tomorrow.
jade pulled out the sofa bed as a doctor walked in. perrie walked over to her,
"is norma gonna be okay?" perrie asked her.
"uhm..yes but i'm not her um her doctor so i'll go get her for you." the small blonde said running out and coming back with the same small black woman from before.
"hello, i'm doctor bailey, i'm doing your mother's pre-ops, operation and post-ops as well as any post-op recovery help she may need; whether that's mental or physical rehabilitation. if you have any questions feel free to ask me or doctor manders." she smiled.
"well my girl asked her a a question and she ran out spluttering." jade said coming and standing next to perrie.
"dr manders is an intern, she's new to our system. your mother was admitted during the new interns' first day so she was here when your mother was admitted. she is on your mother's case and will be assisting me in the ops." she finished.
jade nodded and the conversation ended quickly. perrie went and sat on the sofa bed while jade said night to her mam.
she came back and sat next to perrie on the bed, laying down next to her. perrie turned over and jade put her arm around her waist, spooning the blonde tightly.
they both drifted to sleep to the sound of the intact heart monitor in the curtained-off room.
